Fun fact: David Schwimmer is actually allergic to cats. Also, hairless cats are not actually hypoallergenic as many people think so Monica could have had an allergic reaction to it. Dander, which comes from skin and not fur, is what usually causes allergies. Always amazed me that Gary was ready to move in with Phoebe but he didn't know she hated seeing animals being hurt (and was a vegetarian).

I once went to a guys house that had one of those cats, they actually weirdly soft and cute. They have some very micro fur and his was quite lovable.

My aunt had one (that cost thousands of dollars) and it was.. adorable in my opinion. They feel really weird, but in a nice way lol. It almost feels like you're petting a slightly rotting peach that's been sitting in the sun, so it's warm. And its tail feels sort of like a rat tail. It SOUNDS bad, but it's relaxing petting them. And I think they're super cute. ❤

I never had a Sphynx cat, but I knew a family that had them. I think the mom had allergies, and the lack of hair made the dander spread less, so they were less likely to cause a strong reaction than other cats, and easier to keep the floors free of hair. They were sweet and behaved like normal cats. And their skin was super soft like baby skin, only wrinkly because they have a lot of it.

This might be the fastest that the Friends' writers managed to end a relationship, and it's honestly plausible that it would end over that, which is pretty impressive. It's a thing they'll keep doing, playing a relationship until there's no plausible way for it to not move forward, and then trying to come up with a ridiculous way to end it in a single episode, sometimes a single scene.

Rewatching here and I actually do have that problem where I can’t stand anything going near my eyes or anyone else’s. That scene actually makes me cringe but it’s hilarious. I relate to that episode so much lol. And my friend used to have 2 hairless cats like that (RIP)! They were rescues not expensive “designer” cats. They were so cuddly and I was surprised at how good they felt to pet. They do look like raw chicken though

I did almost the exact same thing rachel did with the glaucoma test as a little kid. I kept taking my head out of the position they wanted me in and were like, "your head has to stay here". So I kept my head there and closed my eyes. They persisted until I was crying into my mom's shirt and the doctor was like, "she's 6, I don't think she has glaucoma" and they gave up. Turns out the type of glaucoma they screen for takes years to develop. As a result, in the US they recommend screening starting at 40 years old.

Also at one point I had a roommate with a Sphynx cat. They're very good for people who have cat allergies obviously, but they have to have sweaters and everything and they're just really prone to health problems. Like any purebred i guess.

I watch a lot of cat videos and am in a bunch of cat groups in FB, hairless cats included. Unfortunately I'm allergic 😔 so I can't have any. Not even hairless, as is popularly thought - it's the dander, not the fur. Just my luck!! I've actually seen hairless cats described as "the closest cat you're gonna get to a dog." They're very playful and affectionate, and a lot of them will cuddle up to you (seeking warmth as well as love!). They do require more maintenance because of their skin - baths to get rid of dirt and oil, moisturizer for their skin, etc. But they are so sweet and I hope I have the chance to meet one someday ❤️

I love sphinx cats and I don't get why they're so overhated. Sure, they feel weird but you can get used to it after a while. they shouldn't be treated differently just because of what they look or feel like, they're literally the same as any other cats except they're hairless. I find them cute and interesting Call me crazy but I find it a bit weird if people care about cats ONLY because of their fur and cuteness. Like, what if those people get a cat, but then that cat gets into an accident that permanently changes their looks. That person will just stop caring about the cat even though the cat did nothing wrong but look different

Eyeball stuff really grosses me out. I can put eye drops in and don't mind going to an eye doctor, but anything involving eyes in movies makes me uncomfortable. I have Rachel's exact same Ieye problem. I have been passed over for glaucoma test twice because they just couldn't get it. Anything remotely comes near my eye or I have to see anything come near anybody's eye on a movie or something & I freak out. It’s's just an automatic phobia thing. It has no basis in reality but it just is. I have no control over it. If anybody had done to me what they did to her in the end of this episode I would have felt so violated I can't even explain it.
