Iran is really not hot and inhospitable compared to the rest of the Middle East as the presenter keeps mentioning. Some of the best fruit is grown in Iran and from Tehran to north is all thick forest until you reach the Caspian Sea.

Interesting video. Iran seems to have a fairly sparse wildlife range due to the desert conditions and human interference in southern Iran. The photographic equipment is outright ancient by todays standards. I wonder how old this documentary is.

A few years ago, I read about Iran was to importing Asiatic lions from India and Amur tigers from Russia. But where are the preys for the big cats? As of now, the desolate environment may not be able to support big cats. Then the killer cats will attack people and livestock. Also, tigers and lions will definitely pose threats to the almost extinct cheetahs.
