wild rides with the HA580 (the sesh I was waiting for)

I gotta say, Horseneck Beach has a lot of interesting terrain to ride. big waves going in all different directions was a blast to carve with the HA580 and the 140 dart tail. This was the sesh I've been looking forward to, so stoked. it was crazy chaotic and awesome. so nice to say yeayyyy 580!

Winging those waves was no joke. Can’t believe you made it through the whitewater. Was hectic getting out on a kite! Also my dog is doing great!

honestly the white water was the easiest situation then I've ever dealt with there, but I don't usually launch at that sand bar. I'm usually getting pummeled by the main beach. but the S swell seemed to make it a little easier. awesome to charge it with you guys. fun day for sure. and hi to your dog! :P

thanks bud! people with gopros know. and my kiting friends that were there that day know how big it was... none of them had ever seen a winger charge waves that big. so much fun. and that 880 can do so much! I was out on a light wind sesh the other day with that and the dw board and a 4.5m and was getting up when the other wingers on old v1 HA or HS foils couldn't get up with 6m wings. and it can rip too. but that 680 is also fun. I kinda feel like I need to keep the quiver to 580/680/880/1180 cause the 580 and 680 are close but that 680 def gets up earlier in lighter days. big wave and wind days I'm always gonna be on 580 but that 680 I think has it's place. more testing to come but if I ever get rid of it, you got 1st dibs! thanks again and I wish you an awesome week!

@@boardmaverick zero experience! I just wrote insta360 to see if they'd send me one, prolly no luck there but I think I'm ready to take the plunge. I'm not really sure where I'll use it, most likely a strut mount. and the one thing that has kept me back was the disruption to my editing routine. and do I go for the x3 or the x4? x3 seems smaller, maybe that's better? GoPro doesnt have a 360 I'm interested in. what are you thinking?

@@OCEANBOUND1 I think 360 cameras and their related stitching software diminish the waves to a far greater degree than your go pros. But, they give you hands-off versatility. You know, my last session was almost canned b/c I couldn't find the hose connector for my big wing - haha 😂

yeah something about HN, it always gets crappy, disjointed waves. but the foils def make them fun since you aren't necessarily looking to ride int he pocket like I did with a kite and a surfboard. Rich would have had a blast in these conditions... it was the day after PtJ. my ass still hurts btw. it's insane, direct hit!

Nice one! I had a few sessions on the ha980 lately in both light and strong winds, nailed the backwind and laydown 360 and also practice DW pumping/gliding on tiny windbumps. Normally ride the 780 and is necessary in real waves but the 980 is so easy and is perfect if the conditions are not. Considering the 580 also for waves but not sure because I think it overlap my ma800

sup bud! so as long as you have the 780, then the 580 would be a lot of fun. it overlaps with the 800 for sure, but it gets up quicker, pumps better like if you need to get off a knuckle or to the next bump (when on wave power, it's easy to get it to go faster), but I don't think it has the speed of the 800. I rode them all back-to-back the other day and the 800 was def harder to get up and didn't point upwind the same, especially when slightly underpowered. so I'm torn if I want to keep the 800. same with the 1000. I cold def get by without them and ride all the new HAs.

And reconnecting after jumps I feel is better on 800, at least I'm not able to land the new HAs on foil. Sooner or later I probably get the 580 anyway for big wave conditions. @@OCEANBOUND1I did a back to back comparison of the MA1000 and HA680 in good waves. Both were great but the speed and glide of the 680 made me think I don't need the 1000 anymore.

J Man, that looked proper fun. Loved some of those crazy dismounts… I managed to impale myself on the foil once in the early days! It was stuck up my back, I looked like a bloody puppet!! V funny… also broke my 8mm Kaohi leash yesterday so a bit bummed 🫤…. Keep up the great content 🏄🏽‍♀️🌊🤘🏽
