How is everyone you invited super adorable?! Such a good vibes trip it seems. It was so nice to see that look on someones face when they catch their very first fish! We all wish we could have joined, but at least this way we got to join in spirit. I'm disabled and living in Seattle and we only have like 4 docks to fish from and I've seen 2 keepers in the last 3 years. Someone did get a dungeness off the dock this weekend, though! Something very weird happened. A "nigerian prince" type scam call. I thought I was possibly DM chatting with Chef Taku, a hero, but it got weird very quickly. Be aware out there. The number offered was immediately disconnected after I called, asked and questioned if it was real, a too good to be true offer of an iphone and reel. Also, since when has Taku been all about god and praise Jesus?

When you go to Alaska you understand why flossing is a practical method, quickly limit out on fish without expending a ton of energy. Personally I’ve never flossed but I understand the importance of different fishing methods, thanks for showing us how it’s done taku!

I love spoon scraping the carcasses. When I process fish, I always turn it into a snack, usually salmon cakes/salmon burgers. Its a reward at the end of cleaning fish. Sometimes if Im lazy tho, I cut through the backbone, cut it into about 5 peices w/ the left over meat still attached, the on a super hot BBQ grill w/ oil and montreal steak spice. We call em Fish Ribs, you just eat it right off the bone w/ a fork it slides off easy. Nothing goes to waste, that is the best part. Great video man.

I love being on the Kenai. It's such a pretty river. There are some fishing spots within Anchorage. Ship Creek gets salmon. The other places really are just stock lakes. (One of those Lakes is Taku Lake) Kind of sad I've not gotten to Homer yet this year. My family down there got Covid the weekend I was going to go.
