What about Toyota's 4th and 5th gen 3sge beams motors ? What about the 2zzge motors , what about the the 2 liter 16V ABF motor that comes in the MK2 GTI ? What about the SR20VE that's all of these make crazy power for small under 2 liter motors with zero forced induction and their screamers here in South Africa people put induction kits on it but instead of a filter at the end they take the velocity stack you put on a turbo that looks like a trumpet to increase the crazy sounds , The only reason the Vtecs have the advantage maybe is because in japan in those years there were stacks of tuning companies messing with the vtec engines there's spoon there's mugen there's skunk all of those and more that messed with these engines they have pretty well knowledge about that motors now tell me imagine every motor had that much consideration and development put into it by tuning houses ? Would vtecs still be ontop ? No not really and if it was it would be by a very small margin

The screaming 4-cylinder combined with the tight spacing between the gears is classic Honda. Even if their modern cars are faster, nothing comes close to the visceral feeling of beating a high-revving NA motor within an inch of its life to get the most out of it. Props to the owner for having the courage to lend his car to a proper driver and riding shotgun. It feels like you're going mach 3 when you're passenger with a proper madman at the wheel.

Surprisingly if you compare a lot of Honda times, at least for acceleration and such, the older cars compare to the new ones very well. Modern cars are super heavy. I remember top gear showed that the original gti was faster than an Awd r32 vr6, which seems crazy.

the driver was scared, the tiger forgives mistakes! the most important thing is not to slow down in turns, but rather accelerate, LSD allows you to do this on a short base! I owned DC5 type R myself for 10 years and I know what I'm talking about Cooper could be overtaken!
