Hiker hunger strikes, I guess! Glad to see that the trail has become easier! The beginning of this stage sure sounds heavy! I also know the feeling of arriving at a false summit... But I never did such a long trail! On the other hand, thinking at night that the next day you sure are going to take it easier and just ending up pushing yourself again and maybe even do more! As long as you do take a break sometimes and give your body a bit of rest when it really needs it....😊 Lot of wind there! 😮 Have a great Sunday! Kaat

Love this once again! Pushing your comfort zone so often that your comfort zone expands is such a great lesson for life! All the best things happen when you get a little uncomfortable.... or maybe in that ridiculous wind... alot uncomfortable!!

Haha more often it’s a lot uncomfortable 😂

Enjoyed your perspective on physical vs mental. There are tons of amazing athletes we have never heard of … bc only those that master the mental side rise to the top. Thru-hiking is physically demanding, but if you don’t have your mind straight and a strong “why” you’re out there … your chances for success fall off the table. You’ve got the mental grit. Great video once again, Lauren.👏

Absolutely! It’s just as much mental as it is physical. Stage 3&4 were where people started to fall apart and skip pieces or quit altogether.

Waow, that's crazy. I remember watching your videos when you started the PCT a few years ago, I think, and now I see that you hiked the trails I'm used to hike, that you sat where I sat many times (that bench in the mountain where you sat to eat, close to the col de Beaufayn, not very far from Die), and that you literally passed in front of where I live... such a small world! You live on the other side of the planet and yet you passed a few meters of where I live :) I live in Die and in order to eat at the camping restaurant of Riou Merle (we see you sitting there in the video), you had to walk in the street in front of where I live...

Such a small world! Die was a lovely city :) you have some very beautiful hiking near you! I loved exploring France this way :)

You should have tried to drink the " clairette de die".
@LaurenRoerick Жыл бұрын
Ohh what is that?
@vincentravan6819 Жыл бұрын
it's a kind of sparkling white wine (a bit like champagne) very sweet. it's a typical specialty of die
@LaurenRoerick Жыл бұрын
@@vincentravan6819 Oh! Nice! I didn't do much drinking on trail since it's hard to drink and hike!

I don't know why your videos don't gain more views. If you want them even better you would need a professional crew, with big-a** cameras, filming in 8K. Maybe it's too perfect? Or viewers don't like to see a kick-a** person having a nearly problem/drama-free hike because she knows what she is doing? Or YT algos favor AT content? Save yourself from hiking frustrations and do the CDT next, at least the landscape is gorgeous out there and you can film bears, moose and forest fires (everything from a save distance) apparently that is what viewers want.

I honestly wonder this same thing!! Thank you for saying that :) I can’t figure out why KZbin won’t push these out to more people. But I still love to share them with the people who do watch!

but i mean you should not pick your destination for the viewers. that would be ridiculous. the world is huge and has so much more to offer than the US.
