I know this is late, but thank you for this series. I used to stream and, with no intention of bragging, I was doing very well. I just naturally knew what to do somehow. I ended up burning out of life and I quit streaming. After a while, I wanted to start again, but I put a lot of pressure on myself to do as well as I was before and that stopped me from making any progress. I decided to start over from scratch with a brand new account and watching these videos for a refresher and encouragement has been a big help. Great work!

You are such an amazing inspiration and help to the little guys of twitch! I've taken a lot of your advice to heart and it has truly helped me grow and build a community! Though it is still small having people so dedicated to even leave the stream on lurk when they can't be there to support directly has helped me a ton! Thanks for much for all the time you spend doing this and it really means a lot to a ton of people!

I really appreciate the effort you put in to help this community, rather than just reeling off the same five things every popular streamer says helps get you popular, you actually take the time to go into depth on why these things matter and also include a lot of stuff many people don't think about. After watching a few of your videos i will definitely try to apply some more of what I've learned (and actually buying a face cam, pop filter and mic stand might help too XD) Personally what helps with the depression and filling the silence for me is always having one friend be there. Luckily she enjoys the streams a bunch anyway so it's no work for her, but going into a stream with the mindset of just talking to a friend helps a lot, an added bonus is they can tell you if there are any issues with visuals, audio etc and they can ask you questions whenever they notice you're getting quiet. So yeah if you know one person who might help you out, don't be afraid to ask them.

As for tip 3, I am very well versed in commentating my gameplay and i try to ask open questions to my chat to encourage viewers to chat. To the point where i even commentate and monologue my gameplay when im not even streaming. Its just second nature. My issue is my conversational repertoire
@Wild4
@Wild4 6 жыл бұрын
Dont use words like "repertoire" on twitch - 14 kids don't know what it means ha ha ha (jking) - This will always be a tough one, I normally find success when I can find subject that someone, or a few viewers are passionate about - Then you will see that repertoire light-up.

I basically had basically everything setup for me to do good (still do) except when I stream it’s obvious I’m just saying things to fill the space and I got next to no viewers. Therefore I stopped quite quickly, it’s motivating to hear that it was alike for you, I hope I can get up the courage to stream again, and start growing from 0 to like 2 or 3, it’s weird how at the start felt like many viewers was having like 400-500, but now I think people with 5 are “lucky”. Whenever I got like 2 viewers randomly I was really exited but they left pretty fast. I need to stream more and become better, and I hope I do because I have a reputation with myself of planning to do it and then thinking it would probably not amend to anything anyways, or forgetting it.

wassup bro... Thank you for helping every streamers out there. With all your ideas and suggestions, it's great to be able to implement those. About stream schedule, if I have a schedule of M-W-F 8:30pm-11:30pm except for Friday it goes until around 2am then Saturday 9pm-3am, you think that will work for a beginner? I know grinding is not a must specially for a new streamer. But I do love to play till 3am when it's Friday and Saturday since there's no work then next day. I hope you'll get a chance to see this. First of all... Thank You. It's been a year for Twitch/KZbin alike. I have a handful of Followers and Subs respectively. My weakness is the silence. Twitch no longer has a music library and PS does not allow Spotify to be used while broadcasting for the No CR playlist... I'd be cool with instrumentals. I don't have conversationalists be it with me or one another. I do enjoy the lurker. As I too enjoy just watching gameplay, the occasional lobby interaction from time to time, or just simply something in their background. The biggest let down are those that Follow/Sub only to undo it the next day. I have a steady schedule, and other than personal conversations; I keep the mic near. I even attempted a giveaway for the holidays. I'm kinda at a standstill. 🍻

If you do all the tests on your main channel does it completely ruin it? Do people really remember a bad stream and won't ever go back to it even if the streamer gets better?
@Wild4
@Wild4 6 жыл бұрын
Doing test on your stream can have a negative effect - which is why you want to have a second account. Sometimes people will give you a 2nd or 3rd chance BUT its best to WOW them on your 1st impression. 💪
