I absolutely love my new DD Travel Hammock Bivi :D just having a little look around it, much to learn! I have a couple of local overnighters and then a 3 day trip planned, then I hope to give this a proper go :D hopefully I’ll have learned how to do a non-floopy ridgeline by then. Hammock advice..get some wrap straps for your hammock to wrap around the tree. Will give you several attachment points for better height adjustments and really easy to use. Also, lay diagonally in your hammock, you'll get a flatter lay. If you lay straight your body will be bent like a banana which will become uncomfortable during the night. Only hang your hammock as high as you are willing to fall. You will need an under quilt because of the heat loss from underneath during the night and a nice tarp to keep the rain and debris from the trees off of you. And a ground sheet to step on after you take your boots off before climbing in. ...keep the bunny suit thought it's cute and will keep you warm and comfy during the night. Enjoy!!

Mostly very good advice, however I've found a cheat code for comfort (particularly in a hammock with a bug net which is tough to stay diagonally in). Get a cheap inflatable pillow; need not be anything special at all, and you can even go super-ultralight if you wanted to. Put the pad inside the hammock, then put the pillow(s) under your thighs toward the knee and you'll be in a very, VERY comfortable position while laying longitudinally. This also helps your underquilt (or something like my Hyke and Byke Antero Hammock Bag) working much better to keep you warm and to minimize exposure if you're using a rainfly. ;)

Almost correct, assuming you’re using an iPhone. In the iPhone camera app, just LONG PRESS on a point on the screen, and in a couple seconds Auto-Exposure (AE) and Auto-Focus (AF) will lock.

Loved the bunny suite! 🤣 My top tip for Hammock camping is ridge line related. I use a 15m ridge line so it goes from tree to tree twice. Once over the tarp to hang that and once under the tarp to suspend the bug net from. And all your dry bags and socks n stuff. Like a wee washing line. 👍

Loved this video. Best thing i've watched in ages!! You can't beat having a bit of fun in the woods, learning new techniques and just chilling out in a hammock looking up at the sky. When I first got my hammock & tarp I watched a few of MCQ Bushcrafts videos on youtube. He really knows his stuff and his videos are really helpful, especially with the tarp ridgeline setup, knots etc. Keep having fun:)

Hi Claire .Absolutely brilliant bit of Easter cheer 👍Can't beat a decent hammock for a comfy night's sleep once you've got the hang of it. Can't wait to see your hammock camp video in a few weeks. I bought the whoopie sling suspension with my DD Frontline XL earlier this year but haven't had to use it yet as the standard set up it comes with has worked out just fine. Certainly won't be needing an underquilt out here in Malaysia - too bloody warm at night 😓 .The zipped bug net arrangement on the DD hammock works brilliantly and certainly prevents the mosquito population out here from disturbing my night's sleep. So. I get to the bit where a life size pink rabbit is tying a hammock to a tree and I realised that its not the 1st of April. My heart starts to pound with a growing sense of panic. Has Claire has lost the plot? Is she disappearing down the rabbit hole? Then it gradually dawns on me that I am enjoying the video, and that its me who's losing the plot and slowly drifting into the utopian abyss. My hammock tying tip is this "if you don't know knots, tie lots" wrap and wrap and tie off the ends, nothing worse than plummeting to the ground from a comfy hammock! Keep up the good work

Those straps DD hammocks come with are bad for soaking up water in the rain and it can soak in to the hammock. Whoopie slings and a carabiner will sort that though.

Nice one Claire and great that you're learning new stuff. Just a few observations and tips: Choose smaller trees, anywhere between 4-8 inch diameter (100-200mm) is ample; attach your ridgeline first at about 5ft-6" from the ground, use a clove hitch with 2 half hitches on the standing part as your starting hitch; there are a number of excellent tensioning hitches for the other end but a really simple and effective one, is just to use 2 backhand hitches tied off with a half hitch and a slipped half hitch: a backhand hitch: pass the cord around the tree and keep it as tight as possible, keeping tension on the cord at all times, pass the cord over the ridgeline and go back around the tree this time in the opposite direction to the first wrapping turn, repeat the process of passing over the ridgeline and then wrap back around the tree really pulling on the cord and increasing the tension on the ridge, tie off with two half hitches to the ridgeline, Sounds complicated I know but it really isn't and takes, literally less than a minute to tie: attach your hammock at about 4 ft from the ground, start off by by putting a half hitch into your webbing slings, ie., put one web over the other and under, and then doing the same with the other one, pass each end around the tree and adjust for require position; repeat the process with the webs at the back of the tree and then bring the webs back around to the front tree wrapping until you have sufficient to tie off with a bow knot: repeat the process for the other end but this time keeping everything in tension to keep your hammock reasonably taut. It will give sufficiently when you sit or lie down in it. Hope this helps Claire...love the outfit btw, very cute.

The hammock bivy is nice piece of kit when set up properly. Combined with a tarp either set up hammock or on the ground bivy style it’s a really comfy way to go. You in a bunny suit though is as cute a thing as I have seen in a long time.

The dd hammocks have good webbing but you'll most likely modify it, it's a good idea to have a suspension system to allow for water run off so the hammock and you don't wake up soaked after a nights rain, keep it up Claire I love your channel ♥

How did I Miss this Hilarious funny rabbit in a hammock yet informative video last week as a tip I would use a bow line around the tree or straps around the tree and secure the hammock to them also make some loops on the ridge line for the the net to clip to this will stop them slipping along the ridge when you get in and so keep some shape in the net and the Carrots loved it I laughed when I saw that Keep up the good work
