Solo Autumn Hammock Camp With Campfire & Lamb Steaks 🔥🍂🥩 (No Tarp) Wild Camping UK

I loved this Autumn hammock camp! This was the first time I’ve had a campfire on a solo wild camp - it was so cosy and the lamb cooked on the coals was amazinggg! 🤤 I was toasty warm with the hammock underblanket and my Rab 900 and as it was a dry night I didn’t use a tarp, so I slept out in the open air, just how I like it :)
This hammock is a DD Frontline Superlight and the folding fire pit is a cheap one from Amazon.
Next up will be my first ever car camp, eeeak :D followed by a bad weather mountain adventure!

I appreciate your channel. I'm 66 now, and I did camp this fall. I've done fall and winter tent camping, but I never camp in the summer. I'm my opinion, fall camping is the most comfortable. Plus, campgrounds are almost empty in the fall. People don't know what they're missing! Lol

Brilliant one Claire. Thought about getting a hammock for warmer times. Like we spoke earlier, those firepits are awesome. Never cooked on coals yet, I've got a little metal grill to sit on top. Autumn colours are the best.So beautiful

So glad you upgraded to the sling system. Don’t forget to lock off your whoopie slings before you put weight in your hammock. That bead is to stop the loop being pulled back through, not to lock the sling. When you’ve got your tension where you want it, just pinch your fingers together over the section of sling where one cord is running through the other, and run them down that section of the sling. That locks it off so your hammock doesn’t suddenly loosen off when you get into it. Xx

I have the same DD hammock and DD under quilt and have been using it for several years now. It is an awesome rig and is my go to during bug season here in New England. Black flies and mosquitos are no match for the netting.

The ridge line you set up is fine for a tarp... a ridge line for your mozy net and to make sleeping more comfortable should be from where the straps meet the hammock where you put rain drip stoppers.... you can sleep a little more diagonally in your hammock this way with no rain running down your straps and wetting your bed..... sweet dreams 😴✨💖.

Good stuff as always, you're hammock set up was fine, whoopee slings make adjustments so easy. As a general rule, I set ridge line and tarp first, but that's just so if weather turns, I can set up under cover. Good luck with your next trips out!
