He never said when his next video was gonna be 😭 I'm 16 and debating going into the military. After binging Wild Blue Yonder, I've decided that the Air Force is the branch that suits me best. I'm so grateful for all the videos that you've posted and wish you so much luck in the future! I would like a guestimate on how long all of your soldiers have to wait until the next video 🤔😂😂 thank you for your service!

Congrats!! I'm 38 with a degree going enlisted this year. I'm too old for OTS (36). Wish I made had the right decision like you when I was younger. Nice work!
@ida45877 жыл бұрын
Erik OTS age limit is 34 (you gotta be comissioned a day before your 35th birthday)...but at least you are joining! What job are you striving to get? I am a bit older too (33) and will be doing AFROTC (new one year program for graduates).
@erikminamihata7 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! Yea, I figured I better before I age out and won't be able to. Hopefully Contracting, Biomed Equipment, percision measurement lab, or anything else electrical related. That's awesome about the AFROTC program! Best of luck! Looks like I''ll be saluting both of you here pretty soon!! Which jobs are you going for?
@dylan68017 жыл бұрын

Right on! This part worries me a little...but then again, if I don't do it now..by next year, I'll have completely lose my chance to serve full time. Plus If I play my cards right I'll be able to get my Masters Degree while enlisted. It'll all workout for the better in the end. When are you going to BMT? In DEP?

Tim Schafer Are you joining as a civilian or AD?
@FearNoSound267 жыл бұрын
aimhigh_ida I'm currently Air National Guard as an AGR transferring to Active. All National Guard has to be treated like a civilian for the board process...
@ida45877 жыл бұрын
Tim Schafer That's great! I was thinking of joining the ANG for awhile. What's your AFSC? Also, since you are treated as civilian...do you happen to know if it is true that the july board for OTS was canceled. I read this on a forum (very recommended: www.airforceots.com). I read it was delayed to April 2018th.
@FearNoSound267 жыл бұрын
aimhigh_ida I'm a 2A373 or tactical aircraft maintenance craftsman. Yes I believe the boards are all canceled until next fiscal year, don't quote me on that though as I'm not 100% positive. Air national guard is great, it's just really hard to land a full time slot as an O...
@ida45877 жыл бұрын
Tim Schafer I have heard that. I went into the ANG office asking for options as an officer and they pretty much told me it's nearly impossible (only Air Battle Manager in my area). I went the AFROTC route after that. If the boards are indeed canceled is a good thing I went that route...I am very time critical. Thats a great AFSC. I am after Public Affairs. We'll see.

I am so angry at myself because I missed you in Charleston and Myrtle Beach because I went to Ripley's for a trip as well. Dude I would have had so many questions about the Air Force. It's a shame that I missed you, but I hope you do well at the United States Air Force Academy, HOOAH!

why isn't the air force paying for your transportation to the academy? why do you have to pay for books as well?
@xavierc93327 жыл бұрын
Valentina Cracchiolo No the Air Force Academy pays for all room and board and tuition and they also give you a monthly allowance. That's why depending on your job in the military after the academy for contract will be longer
@Kurt-dg1pn7 жыл бұрын
He'll file a voucher and be reimbursed for gas. He's probably driving because obviously he doesn't want his car to be left in Alaska. As far books, it's the same as enlisted initial issue clothing, they give you $200 for books, and then make you pay for it.

Deion Hulse he got in through the LEAD program. there's 85 slots for Airamn, and another 85 slots for reservist and guard. Every year there's an open slot so getting in tends to be easier.

ZayNation n Umm... No. The Air Force wants Extremely Smart, Athletic, and people who are good at Multitasking. They are extremely selective only allowing 10% of the 10,000 people who apply.

100% right. The Air Force Academy or any military academy is basically an Ivy League school. If you don't have the grades you're better off trying the ROTC route.
