Hello to you and sorry for the late reply. The ionosphere is a good shelter but it is a faf setting it up , hence I don't use it often . Sandy ( Wiltshire man) is in fact a close neighbour ( 2 minutes walk) from me and we are good friends . Thank you for the sub and on my other channel also although photography is not to everyone's liking. Atb Joe

Very Very Enjoyable! Great tips for sorting out my set up! Same as yours basically! All snugpak! It’ll be going on my motorcycle! Far away places! Still working that one out! Wetted my appetite for your other videos Cheers, Graham.

Morning Graham. There's a friend of mine up the road who uses his ionosphere for motorcycle tours ,it's perfect for it . Personally, for me and wildcamps, it's a bit of a faf . I did take the ionosphere with me when I walked the south downs ways , I think that's when I started to regret it.. 😂. Think I will stick to tarp and bivvy on wildcamps , but good luck with yours I'm sure you will enjoy it but it's not for everyone.. Thank you for watching.

Nice honest review Joe, at least the stew went well. I'll be musing the kombat £23 ridge tent French Army replica this spring with bug door and side vents,low to ground slope, only eight pegs. Light 12 kl full kit is the aim. Great to see you out, next time you'll deserve a good sound sleep with ear plugs. All the very best. Harry

Nice to see you out camping again Joe, you should have filmed some of the sounds of the rain and wind during the night. The Farrimond friction hitch is a great knot I use it all the time Sandy

I would of done but my gopro was on charge over night and my zv-1 was packed away. And I learnt my knots from your videos sandy. Atb

That buckle idea on the pack is a great innovation. My new bivvi/tent is similar to yours, and although my last camp didn't have rain the breeze problem was the same I suspect the rain one will be to. Seems the man from DelMonte is making beer now, eww.

The ale was rank but it had alcohol in it , it was OK if you pinched your nose whilst drinking it though.

Nice one Joe. Thanks for showing the friction knots that you used for your tarp, very useful indeed. I have been trying for ages to get hold of one of those Costco quilts for ages but haven't had any luck so far. That casserole looked like a hearty meal. All the best 🙂

Lovely vid. Respect for those knots. I’ve never got past the reef and figure of eight. Do you have any vids of the South Downs Way it’s on my to-do list for this year if I can find the time.
@notyouraveragejoe3222 жыл бұрын
Hello Steve. I'm not sure I have the video of the south downs way, I know I have a few old videos on my computer . But I can say it is a great national trail to do and there are water taps every 10 miles. If you go on some cycling sites that have the trail the water point are marked on maps. Good luck with it you will enjoy it. Atb

I've been playing in the garden with my ionosphere today and used an aqua quest tarp as a flysheet. 3*2 just about covers it at a pinch from back to front, plenty room both sides though. you can fold under any excess tarp to suit. I was thinking a winter set up, defender tarp in camo.. looks pretty cool to be honest.
@notyouraveragejoe322 Жыл бұрын
I did use the ionosphere to do the south downs way in a 100mile national trail. It was in the middle of summer and had rain on the last night I did have a 5ft x 3ft tarp with me that I rigged up using my trekking poles , it just gave me enough room to sit under . It was a faf though ....
@BorderRambler2 жыл бұрын
Cracking camp Joe , some tidy looking knots way beyond my limit 😂 Do I get the blame for choice of shelter lol , I was liking the look of the ionosphere but not if it’s faff to put up. Still it looked a well cosy set up , and a tasty looking scoff with some weird name ale 🍺 Tfs atb Dave ⛺️👍
@notyouraveragejoe3222 жыл бұрын
It's a good shelter but getting in feet first and getting out in some contortionist way didn't help. I always try and keep my hand in with knots . I'm glad I used the ionosphere it kind of reminded me why I don't use it often. 😅 thank you for watching Dave. Atb

Great video. The Ionosphere looks good but to much put up and all those pegs! I have the DD superlight tarp S and the Snugpak Stratosphere. Just roll out and use.
@notyouraveragejoe3222 жыл бұрын
It is a complete faf to put up and a bit of a struggle to get in it , but it is roomy inside. I'm going to try the inner with a a tarp at some point.. thank you for watching.

I have the 3x3 green one got it before they did multicam ones , I don't use it that often and when I do it's with my dd hammock. I prefer the British surplus basha I have the DPM and multicam I find these are great with bivi set ups but the tarp s is the right size if only in camo. Thank you for watching.
