That tarp configuration seemed to work really well giving you ample space to sit when it was raining. My grandsons scouts group did a St Georges day thing, it's good to know tradition does survive in some places :)

Nice spot you found. Your boots _look_ really nice. So, after you've worn them for a while it'd be nice if you could review them. Right now though a first impression would be appreciated; would you say they are better hiking boots that would be comfortable for longer hikes, or are they more like a tactical military type boot? It seems to me that technology has moved forward in everything except boot wear. I average 4 to 7 miles in mountainous terrain on my outings where I live and recreate here in the PNW, so I'm always on the lookout for good boots which it seems are hard to find for me (I have really narrow feet). Thanks!

I don’t know what happens these days but when I was in the Scouts (N.I.) we always paraded on St George’s Day. I always covèr the tops of my boots to keep out scorpions and they haven’t ever troubled me!
