Clever hunt! The wildebeest thought those three ahead are no match for us, not knowing that they were walking into an ambush. It was the surprise attack that separated one for the kill, and all the lionesses focused their efforts on the separated target.

Wildebeest have notoriously poor eyesight. Very good sense of smell and hearing. I presume the wind not only masked any sounds in the grass, but also was blowing toward the lions. Also, they constantly lose at the tables in Las Vegas.
