Do you think I have enough firewood for the winter? First I thought about building a standard firewood shed but I came across these traditional round firewood stacks in Sweden and wanted to try it out. They are great if you don't have a shed and you only need what is naturally found in the forest. I used a tarp under the wooden shingels, bark and moss just to not risk having wet firewood when the winter comes. But traditionally they would just split the firewood in the forest and use a bunch of bark and moss to cover it with. Today some people love the look of a round firewood stack, so to make it easier they use wooden pallets for the foundation and just a tarp to cover it with. I would definitely say that stacking firewood in a shed is much faster and more convenient, but I like the look of this one more than a shed at the log cabin. What do you think? Should I build a firewood shed next year or keep doing these? The outdoor gym is something I also have wanted to do. I thought about only using wood but settled on metal bars. This meant that it would be the first time on the channel that I use power tools. But I think it was worth it for the durability and stability of the gym. I am going to start making new wooden products this winter, before Christmas. The store has been out of stock now for a while when doing everything on my own. In the future I hope to expand my small one man business and hire some passionate people to come and help me craft these wooden products. Thank you for reading this small update and to all my viewers! You make this possible!

If I ever have land, an outdoor gym for calisthenics and a small obstacle course for running, jumping and balance is definitely something I’d want. Metal bars are a necessity though for an outdoor or indoor gym! Although an outdoor obstacle with metal bars would definitely need to be kept 100% dry after rainy or misty days, as to not fall and break the neck haha Besides that I’ve always wanted to make a redbrick chicken coop since eggs and chicken are so expensive.

Very much like the rond form. But to use the wood, you would need to break the formation, so maybe a shed would be better. This wood will be too young and green anyway, it will need to lay for a year at least….

You know I am a film maker, but also loving nature and building stuff out of wood. Your videos are FILMS. The attention to detail, camera angles, edit and sound are showing true talent and love for the beautiful things in life. You can just immerse in the forest listening to birds, bees, mosquitos, rain, trees in the wind, sound of a hammer, knife or axe. I am not sure how many in the audience know how much work that is for one person. Interrupting your hard physical work to reset camera over and over again. I also love how you keep the sound of an action going, while editing in those mood shots. I have been watching from the very start. You got your very own style and I love it, because it looks so much better than any other homestead video. I don't think most people are able to grasp the work that goes into making these videos on TOP of your labour. As a one man show. You don't have many videos, because you do quality content and I am so happy that so many people follow you. To me it means that there is a place for the art of filming and living appreciating detail and quality. Thank you for that !
@ErikGrankvist2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! It means the world to me when someone appreciates and notices the extra effort I put into every detail in the video and that I finally think I have my own style in videography. I really try to plan out a ruff story before I start filming. But there is SO much footage that is cut out just because it doesn’t add much to the progression of the story. So I am actually working on in the future to release “directors cut” versions of my videos 😉

Erik, I, too, appreciate how you create your films. I’ve watched from the start and it was sweet that you remind me of my Grandson. You two would pass for twins. You had me going on this one, going back and forth on two projects. Then, I had the crazy thought,”I wonder who is filming him”. Then it hit me, Erik is filming himself! It was so seamless, it fooled me. I love you, young man. You are a rare breed! Thank you for another fine display of your ingenuity!! ❤

Hi, Erik. Today I've finished watching all of your videos, they're amazing, thank you for them. In this one I thought that you're building a shed, turned out to be a gym. I think there is an opportunity to make a new video. You could build a shed and make a video about it, or build one a little bit further from your house if you don't like the look of it in your house area. Shed is a good thing. You can store your firewood in it and tools, that you don't need often or just don't want to have in your beautiful house. A chamber to store your hunted meat, hunting trophies, lumber for next projects etc. Shed in one end, sauna at the other. It would be comfy if u have to travel a lot to your sauna. Lots of possibilities, great future videos. It is great to have more space with a roof to place your stuff. Thank you for doing what you're doing and sharing it with others. It is inspiring. Do as much of this wildlife as you can, later one you will have less time for it, family issues, work, less strength etc. When I was around 20, I used to work quite a lot with an axe as a hobby. The reason why I used it was I did'nt know how to sharpen my handsaw and we did not have a good one either. Why I did not use chainsaw? Because when I was 14, I almost cut my arm with it, I got lucky, little wound, little scar to remember it. Didn't touch the damn thing for almost 20 years. I'm 35 now and only last year I started using it. Learning to use it. Kind of dumb reason and situation, but it was my main reason to use an axe. It is a great tool, it can be dull as possible, but with a young man's strength you can chop anything with it and make a lot of work, very versatile tool. I developed some skills with it which I am proud of. I have my favorite one. Seeing your videos I was amazed with your skills, with all your beautiful axes and tools, with your log cabin, the beauty of nature in your country and the amazing style and quality of the video editing. Seeing your skills mine feels weak but it brings back memories of this primal feeling when you are young and strong, can make a lot with your strength and only a few hand tools. Enjoy this time in your life, use it well, don't take it for granted. Greetings from Lithuania

I've watched you from your beginnings on building the cabin...and it's always a pleasure! I view it as Incredible! People keep questioning 'why build the workout equipment' because of how much you already work??? I understand completely, as working will maintain a certain level of fitness, for sure...but actually "working out" with equipment and weights, etc., will better hit all the body parts to the degree that a real fitness buff (pardon the buff pun) needs to look his aesthetic best! Building your dwelling the way you want it is one thing, but the house you really live in is your own physical body, so build it just as well! Take Care Bro! 💪🔥💪
