Wow! You just saved me a few buck, brother. Just yesterday I put a camp cutting board in my Amazon basket, and now that I have seen this video I will be making my own. Questions: Since most of the parts of the wood you used is subject to moisture (learned that from you re carving) wouldn’t that shorten the life of the board? Secondly, What do you do to deal with heavy rain? Do you resort to an A frame or some other tarp configuration? Thanks again. Blessings🙏🏾

Hiya Ric. You're absolutely right about the wood. I only use it a few times before I put it in the fire. If you spent enough time on one and made it so that you wanted to keep it, a few coats of mineral oil with absorption time between coats would be fine. Do that maybe once or twice a year and you're golden. Mineral oil is food safe. Regarding rain, the best tarp configuration is the plow point tarp set up. For wind, I'd say the Adirondack configuration. You can find both of these styles on KZbin, or eventually I'll do a tarp configuration video. Thanks again for watching.
