Thanks, Howard. We've been enjoying the change in weather here, still gets hot some days but the cooler temps have been welcome. This past week I went out on an overcast cool day and took so many photographs, the video is taking forever to edit. It might still be another 2 weeks before it is finished. I hope you're doing well :)

Many thanks, Cliff! These brought me back to my early days of photography, nice experience standing there by that field and thinking about how much I enjoyed those early days discovering all these new flowers and subjects to photograph :D

They are lovely, some fields here are more densely covered than this one and they really do look like a blanket of snow from a distance - which can feel odd since we're having temps up to 100+ LOL

Beautiful flower photography, both with the DSLR and phone. I particularly like seeing your work with the 100-400mm, since that is the lens I use. Very inspirational.

Thanks, Bob! It was the lens of choice for these messy wildflowers, much easier to reach far into the crowded field with the zoom lens :) I almost didn't post it to the general audience as I wasn't entirely happy with it. So I'm glad you liked it.

Sunken head in the few moments of lime. Sincere shutter breaks the clouds on the ground with a fistful of meat. Vegetables are never to be forgotten. It's Tiger's Balm which is the new capital of the southwest of Cameroon.

Thank you, Lauriel! It's interesting how fuzzy these are, on the flowers and the leaves and stems. They have a toxic milky white sap, like poinsettia's do, so perhaps they aren't meant to be super attractive for touching and eating and the hairs are therefore a deterrent :)

Another wonderful video. You make it all look so easy and calm, but I know it is actually very difficult to achieve the effects you create. Your secret is that you are really an artist posing as a photographer!
@LieslHuddleston4 жыл бұрын
That's so kind of you to say, David, thank you! It just takes lots of practice and where some say not to look at other photographers' work because that could influence your style too much, I say - enjoy it! Look at the work that you admire by other photographers/artists, on photography sites or Instagram, etc., and ask yourself questions about what you like about the work, what you think they did to get that result and then go out and play :) It has not always been easy, and sometimes it is still a challenge for me but the more I play with the camera/settings/compositions the easier it becomes.

@@LieslHuddleston Thank you for taking the time to reply and for your advice, I think most of my photography these days is creative play too!

Thank you, Carol! I was amazed to discover that I hadn't photographed these over the last 6 years and they are everywhere here this time of year. If I can, next year I'd like to photograph one of the more dense flowering fields as they really do look like a blanket of snow from a distance.

A fan, Viewing your very lovely and inspiring videos from Canada. ‘Snow on the prairie ‘is new to me and surprised that I have never seen it here since the similar annual E.Marginata or ‘snow on the mountain ‘is readily available. Perhaps it needs a longer, Texas sized , growing season to produce ‘snow’?
@LieslHuddleston4 жыл бұрын
That is an interesting observation, sounds like a plausible reason to me! I read about Snow-on-the-mountain and looked at some pictures, quite pretty too! Some fields here are absolutely covered in them right now and really do look like snow from a distance, so pretty. This particular tract of land usually has more than this, but it is different every year. I read about their ballistic seed dispersal, I would love to witness that! :D Thank you for your comment, Linda! I'm happy you're enjoying the videos.

Beautiful! I think, we do not have these flowers in Germany.
@LieslHuddleston4 жыл бұрын
I wonder if you have something similar, these are related to the Christmas flower "poinsettia" I'm not sure if you have those, we often see the cultivated red variety, but I read that the same shade of green like these are the original poinsettia. This particular plant is native to our area and some nearby states.

Are all your videos via phone?
@LieslHuddleston4 жыл бұрын
The video work is a mix between my phone and a little Canon G7Xii. I don't take much pride in my video footage, I have a lot of trouble with it as I'm a bit impatient and don't take the time to use good settings. I keep telling myself I'll learn to do that and yet the photography continues to be the priority LOL I sometimes take video with my DSLR and I should do more of that, but I find it most convenient to use the phone or the little camera.
