Thank you so much for your recommendation to use creta colour chalk for a rich black. I do pet portraits and have always found the black not dark enough. This worked wonderfully to give my latest portrait of a black lab the punch it needed!

Crrtacolor chalk? Is that like charcoal? I think my darks are good enough wirh my caran dache black, but i wondered about adding charcoal to pastels

Caran D Ache is no where near as dark as cretacolor

When I do a search for Cretacolor leads/pastels I get some that have several colors in the package and say they are graphite and some charcoal, some named noir, etc. I would really appreciate the exact Creatacolor black you are using. Is it graphite, charcoal or pastel? If not sure of the name, a photo of the package? I really want that black you are using. Thanks so much.
