Step one - Clean the outside. Step two - clean the inside. Step three - check all systems. Step four - make a plan to fix all structural items. Sep five - fix up that one side of the hull, so bed toilet, water, heating, lighting...etc all work. Sep sex - start working on costing, itemising what you need to buy. Than follow your plan you made.

I think you’ll miss the cosiness of your “proper yacht” initially but long term if you stick at it, grit your teeth at the higher marina fees and learn how to repair and maintain all the cat’s systems you will have an excellent boat for really serious cruising.

So even if they have to spend another $30grand to fix it up, after a fun time sailing it, living on it, if they choose to sell it, they'll make a nice profit.

Here's my thought about you buying the cat. You are blessed. You have a nice boat. You can travel abroad. Before you think that you are unfortunate, stand on the deck, look around at where you are at. Fill your lungs with the clean air coming from offshore and consider where you are not at. You are not stuck in Houston traffic. You are not crowded into a Chicago train. Your will find that as you look back at the lights along the coastal highway that you actually feel sorry for all those people who are stuck in the rat race. And you will realize that your catamaran has given you freedom. And when you trade up, you will feel like you too are blessing the next owner.

@@WildlingSailing Definitely will be many similarities. We went sailing last year (did the competent crew course) We are hoping to dip our toes into sailing in the future when the world returns to normal 🥰 If you ever have any questions about canal boats do let us know 💜
