Thanks, Don! This retainer was my own design. Basically the same idea as a glue in aeropack retainer, but held with set screws.

Maybe a dumb question but how did you get to 31k feet if you said motor burn out was 10k?

There are no stupid questions! The motor stopped making thrust at 10k’. At this point the rocket was traveling straight up at over Mach 2, so it kept coasting another 20k’ (over 36 seconds) to apogee.
