Wilds' Switch Axe creates wonderful flows!

In case anyone else didn't know, using a sneak attack at the start of the fight or when a monster isn't agro instantly gives you power axe for free.

Yeah this is actually really useful, on Chatacabra I am fine but especially on Rey Dao I take every edge I can get

Damn, didn't even know there were extra combos compared to world, for now I only played it exactly like i do in world, just struggling with ZSDs because you need to hold buttons in order to claw on the monster, but I need to learn those new moves, especially the counter one, looking extra strong !

The new moves are really nice, the counter acts mostly as a tool to keep going with your chain and giving you Switch gauge back but you still take damage so especially on Rey Dau you can't just spam it.

@BloodyWyverian well yeah, I already experienced Rey Dau's damage and.. I immediately went back to tempered furious rajang, he's been nicer with me ! But the overall highest damage I got so far was on my frame rate.. I need a new CPU. 😭

every weapon got a new mechanic/block/dodge and focus mode. and most of the weapons got new movesets inbetween attacks like small hops which makes it incredibly smooth

Idk why but somehow wilds swax feels a bit dry, after sunbreak and world... Maybe its bc we just saw early game hunts?

I get what you're saying but I think we gained a lot with the offset slash and counter, it really keeps the flow going and axe mode has it's use since it is needed to replenish Switch gauge. It takes some time getting used to it though!

@@BloodyWyverian Just tried the weapon myself 30 mins ago and wow it feels smoother but a lil weaker than before (maybe its bc zsd is not as strong as it was in world) but yes counters feel real good. I always had a wish for swax to have a single defensive ability 'D

you should upload a fight with rey dau, thats much better for gauging a flow with a weapon rather than a tutorial monster, nearly every weapon flows well with an easy monster like that.

Do we even want to zsd anymore? Since u can't use the new lightsaber attack while amped as it triggers zsd instead

You can still use the lightsaber attack. Even from neutral. ZSD is still a good option and you can still cancel out of it as well! But I have no idea if it still optimal. It may actually need a buff to be truly viable again, you certainly can't spam it anymore!

@@BloodyWyveriando you have frame generation on? Because that essentially (fake) doubles your fps. My friends can’t get above 45fps with a 3070ti. Game is horribly optimised

​@@Boamerewell with that rig maybe hei doesnt need it. I would recommend tuning settings until you get 50-60 frames and then turning frame gen on. Works very well and improve getting 110-120 fps average on a 6800xt and 11600k

@@Very_Unwise only 40 series nvidia cards have frame gen unfortunately :( , but really no game should need frame gen to get good fps.

So far with the Swaxe I like fighting Chatacabra and Rey Dau but I just hate fighting Doshaguma, its really aggressive with not long openings between attacks and sometimes hitting offset slash doesn’t get rewarded and its just rough missing the timing on the offsets. 😢 But anyway good hunt on Chata and im looking forward to seeing you take down Rey Dau ⚡️⚡️

I am definitely getting the hang of Ray Dau but still want to practice a bit more to get a decent time. The only fight I don't like still is Doshaguma, his offset timings are very close and if failed result in pretty big punishment. All other monsters are really nice, my favorites are certainly Rey Dau and Chatacabra lol

@@BloodyWyverianMake sure to check The Handler to see if you have the Rey Dau optional quest, it’s a lot easier to hunt it that way, fought rey 2 times in the wild and it always left locale 😭😭

Wilds Swaxe is great and what i did learn from Wilds Beta soo far is They REALLY want you to use Focus Mode because Non Focus mode feels really bad HOWEVER... it ironicly feels natural to play with Focus Mode a lot Its, deffinitly a LOT better than Iceborne's Clutch Claw nonsense or Rise's Wirebug's Wound System also feel WAY more natural than Tenderizing garbage

im able to kill chatacabra in like 2 minutes by just hitting it with CB and in comparsion Saxe looks really underwhelming, i kill him with same time as you. Both are really fun weapons though, but i cant choose...

Swaxe certainly needs a damage buff... the only "competetive" way to keep up with other weapons is by spamming the new full release slash but especially when it comes to Ray Dau, SA doesn't even come close to other weapons... and the fact that the counter doesn't even negate all the damage is really concerning as well...
