I am travelling to Seychelles this Nov and I am so glad that I stumbled on your channel. I highly appreciate your idea of supporting the locals rather than staying at resorts with big corporations. After watching your videos, I have cancelled all my bookings made with resorts and hotels, and will be staying at guesthouses run and managed by private hosts. Love your distinctive style of travel vlogging.

Be careful with the guys on the beaches selling tours. Never pay a deposit for a trip for the next day or something like this. Either they'll get you on the boat/trip immediately or right before the trip starts and if they don't want this don't buy a trip with these guys and instead book at your hotel. I've been to Seychelles a few times in my life and it really is a beautiful and really safe travel destination. I also know the guy you booked a tour with at Cote d'Or, he seems like a decent guy but some of his colleagues selling tours are not. Some of them are scammers and heroin addicts. Heroin addiction is a huge problem among the poorer Seychellois and some of them scam tourists by selling fake tours. The scam goes like this: They'll be talkative like a cool and chill buddy, ask you where you're from and how long you'll be in Seychelles and if it's your first time. They'll convince you to book tours with them in the coming days. They'll say it's cheaper and to support the locals in contrast to the big travel organizations like Creol, 7 south etc. These scammers will then charge you a deposit "as security in case you don't come" or "to pay the skipper up front for the gas" or some other nonsense arguments why you have to pay them a deposit or even for the whole trip in advance. They'll do this to as many tourists as they can in just a few days and when the day of your trip comes, nobody is there and the guy disappears until all the tourists he scammed have already left Seychelles or the island. They'll get a few hundred dollars like this in a short amount of time and spend it on heroin and getting high while they are hiding and waiting until the tourists have left, in contrast to around 10-20$ per person which these guys usually earn on you for a booking.

We really loved our stay too. It’s a shame there is a big drug problem among the locals.

When i was young i wanted to be born in the Seychelles so that i could spend my whole life there. They say Prince William and Kate spent their honeymoon here in the Seychelles. A lot of British folk own a lot of the smaller islands which is out of reach for regular folk.
@kyelou71245 ай бұрын
That is not correct, the Seychelles people own the majority of their islands save a minority that are privately leased, and even fewer privately owned

The British don't own anything anymore in Seychelles, all is owned by Seychelles since we became independent. Yes, Prince William and Kate spent their honeymoon here in the Seychelles. However, I don't know where you got that information from that they own a LOT of the smaller islands? Privately owned island(s) can only be Seychellois people. Foreigners never can own, only lease.
