It’s basically guarantied a spot in season 11 or 12, it got close in two tournaments in a row. It’s very popular, so they probably are going to still go ahead with it, but maybe just without the effort and budget that would’ve went into the episode if it had won outright.

I think there's more reasons than those. Wile vs Tom had more interesting connections. It ultimately was the closer of the two matches. Indirectly Coyote vs. ACME movie situation. A small chance some people expected a new God of War game to get announced, it did. A lot more interesting scenarios to consider too. Also the Wile vs Tom supporters went all in for it.

When the hell did he get that? Even if he does have access to something like that, Tom still has way too many advantages. He's more competent, a more skilled fighter, even in strength, smarts, and durability, and his weapons are far less likely to backfire. Not to mention more important points, like Tom having 9 lives and superior toon force overall.

@@masedaace5473 acme looniversity. he made it to kill the roadrunner, naturally, buuuut roadrunner pulled his usual nonsense to avoid the serum. unforunately, the entire rest of the university was affected instead. the only cure is, appropiately enough, laughter. also, i'm... not sure i'd call tom SMARTER than wile e. even a lot of his plans are genuinely well thought out, only thwarted by physics bending over backwards. and wile e has a clone army in the comics.. which may be a reference to the popular clone army fan theory.

@danielwilson8604 i didn't say smarter, I said even in smarts. Tom's not a dummy. He's been able to make supercomputers and rockets out of stuff he finds lying around in a junkyard. Plus, unlike Wile E, the laws of physics don't usually work against Tom. The only reason he fails is because Jerry is able to outwit him and beat him at his own game. That's gonna be really helpful. As for the serum, I still don't think I'll be that useful. With his luck, Wile E's more likely to spill that crap on himself and die. Tom is much faster in reaction speed since he's dodged lasers. Wile E hasn't, unless you scale him to the other Looney Tunes, which I don't think is viable. He only ever battled Bugs and mostly relied on his gadgets. Bugs similarly never fought Wile E, just outsmart him. Finally, if we allow access to things they only used once, then Tom has counters. He has a wishbone that warps reality and the iconic Velocity Enhancing Speed Altering Ultra Zapper, which could slow the coyote to a snails pace.

Personally what they really should've done is given an spot in Season 11 to Kratos vs Asura. It gotten runner up twice now, I think it's quite clear a lot of people wanna see the matchup. Hell it may broken only one matchup could win Tournament of Champions rule. At the same time, it would've been justify because not doing Kratos vs Asura in Season 11. I think this matchup was 100% carried by toon force. I’ve seen Kratos vs Ashura recommended since I started watching DB. Never once seem Wildy or Tom brought up. Separate or against each other. I kinda get it though, Toon Force is the fun new toy in DB and people want to see more of it.

Wile E vs Tom is FAR more hype than Kratos vs Asura. It is decent enough, but I have no attatchment to them, ESPEICALLY when compared to Looney Tunes as well as Tom and Jerry. Hope we get episodes like Sailor Mercury vs Tecna, Ahsoka vs Psylocke, and maybe even Spider-Man vs Ladybug next season. I am actually shocked the last one was not on the ballot. Im not upset that we didn't get kratos vs asura. It will assuredly happen eventually if Kratos doesn't eventually fight dante. If we are finally getting unicron vs galactus. Honestly, Scooby vs Courage soured my taste for cartoon MUs. If they are going to argue that toon force cancels each other out, then why bother.

Super excited. I love both characters but I like Tom just a bit more. I recently did some research and I believe Tom actually comes out on top. They both have crazy feats like creating constellations and traveling through space at high speeds, but I believe Tom has most other advantages. He is more skilled than Wile knowing multiple martial arts and pressure point combat, the smart cap makes him have all the knowledge in the world and he can make anything out of anything. Given Wile use’s basically exclusively machines and weapons to fight, the smart cap is a hard counter to Wile as it would give him all the knowledge to make every weapon Wile makes, including the anti toon DNA. And if you argue that Tom for some reason shouldn’t be allowed to learn that with the cap, then I could easily argue that the anti toon dna is specifically effective against Looney characters. Aka the looney toons have specific dna that can be destroyed by the anti toon dna. So it’s very likely Tom wouldn’t have that DNA given he isn’t a Looney. Also the biggest factor imo is competence. Wile is usually the defeated by nothing but himself while Tom, he fails a lot too, but it’s because he has an equally crafty mouse to contend with. It’s treated as more of a fight rather than Wile just having everything backfire on him. Please win Tom

@@xboxclown8922 I do understand that it’s close and both have pretty equal showings. But people get too hung up on Wile’s anti toon dna which I don’t think is enough to win. Tom imo has so much more like a wish bone that can grant any of his wishes, smart cap that could give him all the knowledge Wile knows, the ability to just draw things into existence and the best argument for Tom is his competence. Wile’s whole gag is that he fails almost exclusively to no fault but his own. Tom at least needs resistance in order to fail. I do agree with the sentiment that it’s close and either could theoretically win. But the counters Tom has as well as the possibility Wile takes himself out before Tom can kill him to big factors that can’t be ignored. Tom FTW

@@zachspool I want to point a few things out. Wile may not fight often but in a few cases. He actually shown to fight surprisingly well. Yes he has a long history of ACME stuff backfiring on him, an recurring joke. Another way to think of it is Wile can get exactly what he needs directly from ACME. For the most part, Tom got to look around for something to use as an weapon. Also Wile can easily be argued being faster nearly keeping up with the Road Runner. An character whose technically faster than The Flash, speed is already beyond ridiculous levels. Wile also tanked greater levels of TNT in comparison. Like enough to blow up an house killed Tom while several examples of more explosives with Wile getting blown up and being still alive. Both became star constellations in the sky. Sure, both done a lot of the same things over the years making this a rather interesting matchup. Tom is smart but Wile had to take on Bugs Bunny a few times. We can argue both of them are smarter than Tom. Not to mention, Tom can be tricked. Yes Wile also can get tricked himself but not as easily as Tom. Another argument is the Road Runner a more broken animal character than Jerry. Yes I could agree Jerry is smarter than the Road Runner no surprise there. Both even caught their prey a few times. I still felt Wile had other ways proving he's more durable. Such as constantly falling off cliffs or getting heavy things to fall on top of him. Tom does have a longer history since he debut first. But Wile also proven to be the more determined out of the two cartoon characters. In the end, we will see who ultimately wanna win more. I still say this is way better than Kratos vs Asura.

Tom has shown actual formal training and more uses and demonstrations of different martial arts. He should be more skilled. ACME gives Wile everything he needs but what use is it when all those products tend to backfire? And Tom doesn’t always need to look around for weapons. He has multiple instances of just pulling random things out of thin air and even making his own thought bubbles real. Tom can also draw things into existence. And on the Flash point, that isn’t really canon to mainline Looney Toons. Crossovers are kind of bad for debates like this because it basically relies on other series entirely to get an advantage. But if we allow crossovers then Tom can fight Superman in Multiverses lol. You say Tom dies to a house explosion then give a feat blatantly better than that. Aka the house explosion is a lowball to be fair. Plus death in T and J is hardly the kind of death you think it is. But only is Tom ok the next episode, but we literally see one of these “deaths” happen and Tom can literally just yank his spirit back to life and reform from nothing but an outline. It’s hardly the death people think it is. Also, Wile interacted with Bugs therefore scales? I definitely don’t agree with that. Bugs finesses Wile at every turn pretty easily. And the smart cap Tom has would actually make Tom smarter and less gullible. And Wile’s whole gag is that he is short sighted and ends up failing due to a move that he didn’t account for or his own incompetence. Tom only fails because he is working with an equally smart individual which is something Wile can’t say for himself. Road Runner doesn’t really need to hatch any ideas or skeem to counter Wile.And if anything Tim is the only one who can consistently win over Jerry while Wile bested Road Runner like once. And I also don’t agree with RR being more broken. Jerry is probably one of the most difficult prey to catch in cartoon history. Not just because he is crafty but because his toon force and abilities allow him to basically do anything in order to get away from Tom. But Tom has shown the same durability feats of not greater. Hell Tom and Jerry created an explosion that turned he future into the past. But Tom also has survived being reduced to ash and just his outline fine. Tom has survived falling off cliffs and heavy things too consistently. And if he ever does “die” it’s not true death as he can still just come back whenever as shown when he just yanked his spirit back. And I also don’t agree Wile is more determined. I think you may be confusing Tom tolerating Jerry every now and then to him not being as determined. They both live in the same house and have gained a mutual respect for each other and Tom actually enjoys the chase. Plus I think we are forgetting the competence of these characters. Tom and Wile may both be prone to failure, but Tom fails because there is opposition to him and tends to win when the opposition isn’t Jerry like with Butch. Wile’s whole gag is that he fails because of no other real reason than himself. Road Runner is a bird that runs fast. He doesn’t do anything special to evade Wile 99% of the time. The fight is close but I see Tom’s arguments to be more sound as they rely less on crossovers and scaling and he shows just as much wacky toon force and more variety of powers imo. And if Wile did somehow kill Tom, he has 9 spirits. We will see but I think people seriously underestimate Tom Cat.

This led to both of them becoming star constellations. Now if Wile scales to any of those characters. In theory, he could do it too. Don't you remember another Tom & Jerry short where Tom dies nine times? They are virtually going to look at everything since neither lacks an main canon. This really comes down to how killable Tom is. Also could he counter the anti toon stuff? Yes it has a flaw by laughter disables the effects. Wile is more resourceful out of the two as well. Honestly, both has a shot at winning.

They both somehow kill themselves because they’re defined by failure, or Tom wins because he’s had SOME wins throughout his life. Cole Cassidy vs. Erron Black would've been an awesome episode especially if it was done in the style of a Western movie shootout. Ok here is my conclusion. Tom has more consistent examples of being physically jacked and is more actively engaging in close combat, while Wile E is implied to be lanky and lightweight. Sure, Tom gets beat up by mice, but that's the joke. If Tom can frequently endure beatdowns from a massive dog like Spike, then I don't see a starving coyote overpowering Tom in a fist fight. *Both combatants are shown to be nigh invincible, but they both have shown that they can die. I am assuming that Wile E has more invincibility, but I don't think it would be by a wide margin. *Wile E has way more equipment and gadgets, but they fail spectacularly at least 90% of the time. Tom's failures are more frequently caused by Jerry's wit, agility, shenanigans, Toon Force. Road Runner is frequently idle or stationary, and Wile E's traps still fail consistently. Tom's arsenal, by comparison, is simpler but more reliable. Don't buy from ACME. *Wile E might have a speed advantage. Road Runner's MEEP MEEPs can be heard before he arrives, meaning that he is normally running at subsonic speeds. This is still extreme, and not considering when Road Runner bolts away at full speed. The fact that Wile E can catch up at all is still impressive. Tom, by comparison, is running inside or near a house, which requires far less speed. Tom might have speed feats that I'm overlooking, but Wile E just seems to be faster on paper. Wile E also uses rockets to move faster, although I am not considering this since these rockets basically always blow up before they can achieve anything productive. *Wile E is a genius and has better traps than Tom, on paper. Again, Wile E's traps are dysfunctional, even at the best of times. But if intellect becomes a factor, Wile E has an edge. Tom's intellect is somewhat average, by comparison. *Tom is slightly less obsessive than Wile E, but they both have similar cartoony-predator personalities otherwise. *Wile E and Tom have both occasionally trained themselves in martial arts, so they might be even in that regard. *Combat experience is essentially identical. *Toon Force is about the same. I'm assuming that Tom has a slight edge, but not by a wide margin. Wile E normally uses gadgets more than Toon Force, but still has it. Neither combatant is as godlike as The Mask, but DB did essentially conclude that for Scooby/Courage so maybe that is what they will decide? *Tom has defeated Jerry occasionally. Golden Age Wile E has no real victories against RR. Jerry does actively have to avoid Tom, while RR can win Luigi-style: by doing absolutely nothing. If luck or win-ratios are factored in, Tom has the advantage.

Personally speaking, I'm not really excited about the results. I feel like external circumstances, like the current climate of the animation industry and the whole 'Coyote vs. Acme' controversy, swayed the opinions of voters, not to mention a lot of people online were saying that any Champion who didn't vote for Wile E vs. Tom was a bad person. Plus, even though I'm a fan of Looney Toons, I really don't like Tom & Jerry at all (not to the extremes of series like Gravity Falls, Black Clover, or Rick & Morty, but I can't stand it). I just hope it isn't held so late into Season 11; I'd rather it be featured closer to the beginning so that all new matchups can be shown off afterwards.

It's borderline with that let me explain. Yes Jerry and Tweety are so used being the target from larger animal characters. They actually got more direct stuff in common too. Although both Tom and Sylvester are cats. Sylvester in some stories is a notably different character. In comparison, both Tom and Wile are so used to going after another animal in majority of their stories. They got some pretty strong connections. Sylvester isn't a good opponent for either of them truthfully.
