Here's this week's news: Max will no longer stream new episodes of Sesame Street after the upcoming 55th season next year, because Warner Bros. Discovery ended its partnership with Sesame Workshop recently. However, the long running preschool series will remain on the streaming service until 2027.
@ZakWolf14 күн бұрын
Yeah. SesameWorkshop will now be shopping for a new streaming service. Or maybe PBS will start airing the episodes first-run again.

Happy Thanksgiving, Zak!, MeTV Toons looks quite nice and has a weirdly nice lineup I don't think Wait Till Your Father along with the good old Flintstones was a kids show, but it was mostly a "family show" like King of the Hill.

7:20 He was also heavily inspired by ''All In The Family'' as well. to the point where the theme song with Lois and Peter on the piano partially mirrors the intro of that show with the Bunkers on the piano, AND he also revealed that the Brian and Stewie episode from 2010 was inspired by an episode of AITF called ''Archie in the cellar'' as both episodes are ''bottle episodes'' that completely breaks from both of the shows usual storylines.

While I've never seen 'Wait Till Your Father Gets Home' growing up, You can tell it was made at A time when animation was declared as kids stuff after 'The Flintstones' ended it's run on ABC, and Hanna-Barbera started making kid focused 'Flintstones' spin-offs on Saturday mornings.
@ZakWolfАй бұрын
Well, of course, "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home" wasn't made for kids. I didn't start watching it until this year when MeTV Toons started up and I've been getting into it... it was neat to see Hanna-Barbera do something strictly adult at the time, and as I said, it led to some controversy that there was a cartoon for adults airing on TV.
@NerdyChocolateLabradoodleАй бұрын
I wonder if the reason MeTV Toons is airing Caillou’s Holiday Movie is because it was part of a package deal on Wildbrain’s behalf, similar to the when 4Kids dubbed One Piece.

Wishing you a happy Thanksgiving, Zak Wolf! I agree with you about some of the inappropriate violence and behavior of some cartoons that were, and are geared toward young children. Even as a 20-year-old, I find myself not as entertained by them as I used to be as I see things through more mature eyes. I never like gun violence in anything. Slapstick isn’t even that funny to me anymore. Especially in the world we’re living in today. As a pacifist, I just don’t like the thought of bad ideas getting into Little minds. We need to find safe content for kids to watch, and as adults set positive examples for them to follow. Leave the cartoons with questionable content for the grown-ups when the kids aren’t around. Thanks, Zak Wolf, for bringing this to light. I hope you have a great holiday season! Peace out!

Hope you have a good Thanksgiving, Sam Valentino. When you have Turkey, hopefully you won’t eat it live before it’s fully prepared, stuffed and roasted. It’s a good thing Zaslav didn’t run for President. Imagine if he banned animation in the United States. I’d definitely go for media preservation over media elimination. Also, since Christmas is coming up, if Elmo Saves Christmas was made in the 2020s instead of 1996, I wonder if they’ll still do the endless airings of It’s a Wonderful Life or would all the TV channels only show Romantic Christmas telemovies when Christmas is every day. (Hope that doesn’t happen in real life)

We needed another strike more than ever since companies are still removing content from streaming, locking projects up in some Disney Vault-esque situation (usually for a tax write-off) and using generative AI. Also, you know how the people who made those shorts tried to pitch those shorts to other companies like Nickelodeon but WBD stopped them? Ironically enough, in 2001, Micah Wright was going to pitch his anime-influenced pilot Constant Payne to other networks but Nickelodeon stopped him. (Contrary to popular belief, it wasn’t shelved because of 9/11, it was shelved because Nickelodeon failed to reach a compromise with Wright about animators being paid higher wages.) Kinda crazy to see Caillou’s holiday special air on METV TOONS OF ALL PLACES. Speaking of which, the end credits song “Everyday” by Marilou is way too good to be in Caillou, sounds more like a slow dance song than anything else. I’m glad NBC will treat Rudolph with respect for his 60th anniversary, especially since the later CBS airings were poorly edited. I think CBS removing Frosty Returns was for the best considering that special’s reputation. To close this off, hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving.

When is MeTV toons gonna air the banana splits show!?
@CamdynMcBrydeАй бұрын
Well, The Banana Splits is live-action
@ZakWolf15 күн бұрын
@CamdynMcBryde The framing material is, yes, but they show cartoon shorts as part of it, such as "The Arabian Knights" and "The Three Musketeers". In a way, it's similar to how "Toon In With Me" does the same thing (but more like a throwback to those old kiddie cartoon shows), and that airs on MeTV Toons. They also aired a couple of Svengoolie Halloween-related specials (one with Looney Tunes cartoons and one with a couple Scooby-Doo episodes); again with live-action framing material.
