Agree with you on bottles, i can get 1 litre bottles of pop for about 40p and they are plenty strong enough to use. I've just returned to brewing after 30 yrs off and my first kit is a razorback ipa, fingers crossed time. Nice, no nonsense video btw.

Ditto many other comments, good to see you're back. Funny you mention barrels as after decades of bottling (glass and PET) I now have 2 new barrels. One has geordie yorkshire bitter in it and the currently fermenting courage best bitter kit is going in the other. My plan is to start on one whilst the other is maturing and keep a rotation system. Additionally, I'm doing small batch (6-8 litre) BIAB all grain and extract (using the 1.2kg mangrove jack pale malt for extract) and they will be bottled!

Cheers. Yeah i miss the pressure barrel.Very easy to get carried away maybe its harder when its down the bottom of the garden in gold weather but temptation would be there. I aim to get a hand pull one day...

Glad to hear you've got a better brewing spot. Lower temps definitely help make better beer. Kits are better nowadays, I've made some great beer from kits but I would always add 1kg DME and a massive dry hop e.g. 100g which makes a great pint but it does tend to bump up the price a bit!

Really good to see you back Grant. Nice one on moving house. Under the stairs will be a great little fermenting space. I've not done this kit before, it turned out super clear. I really want to do a wheat now. Ha may just invest in the mangrove one

Thank you its feels like a lifetime away since i was here. Yeah that mangrove jacks wheat is fantastic and the yeast is super tolerant my summer beer hopefully we our of lockdown then as kits became hard to get last time.

Great to see you again, I remember brewing that kit a few years ago and it was nice but yeh they need to change the name and generally Wilko's kits with the mention of hops in the name have very little taste of hops. Good stuff but not hoppy. I'm glad you're back and still doing some extract kits as I like to watch both styles of home brewing. Take care and all the best. Stevie

Appreciate the kinds words. It took me 5 attempts to edit the footage before uploading i nearly gave up. Glad some people still enjoy watching them. Hope to keep them going and then in summer attempt digging out one of the grain systems if they havent rusted 😲

I took the plunge with this kit and smashed in extra hopped dme plus 50g of cascade and 50g of mosaic, so really a £20 kit was very good and fruity but only after spending another £10 - 12

@@iainhay2823 Agreed kits have been a easy brew up tempted by all grain but think will break the seal in the summer. Kits again i want to avoid left overs. My mum still had 2014 hops in her freezer until recently 😆

@@beerloverTV just used some nugget from 2012! Vac sealed in Mylar and in a freezer. Worked ok, was really surprised.

@@iainhay2823 Yeah i think one of the sites had a chart for how much aa you loose per time from age i worru when i dont brew enough not using the freshest i have is one other thing to go wrong. That said i always seem to make beer that i can stand drinking and thats the goal 😆
