One thing I really like is that the opening of the station is bigger, so ships don't have that silly clipping issue. I'm curious if there will be larger ship types in the future.

Yeah, when I was looking at the leaked space stations (months ago) the entries were much larger for sure. Hopefully HG has worked on some improved path finding.

I hope custom ship's that would be cool! It looks like that old ps1 game i forgot the name. Cool ship! You are right it could be racing. Oh it was Wipe Out

I feel like I'm the only one who's noticed part of the space station's assets literally come out of the ground on the far right of the screen and get lifted up. I dunno what that is but it's moving and I haven't seen anyone else notice it.

Yeah, I did not see the animation, until you mentioned it - Looking at it now, it looks almost like a luggage conveyor system. 😊

I refer to the shuttle in the video a toilet paper tube or the double toilet paper tube. There are shuttles I like pretty good. I had 2 tiny shuttles I upgraded somewhat. They was the unidentical twins. Very excited to check out the new space stations. You didn't mention the stairs on the left that look like they go to a third floor like I saw in Capt. Steve's video.

Looking at that new ship, if you look at the decoration/paint job, it very much has a sort of race3r vib to it. That combined with the flag sign makes me think some sort of ship racing as well, or at least a sort of time trials thing. Would be crazy fun I think. :)

The new space station looks beautiful! Though I hope they keep a few old ones available for visiting too, like with all the abandoned space stations. I would miss them if they get completely removed😅

Beeblebum, I haven’t heard any of you guys pick up on the camera angle from the front of the ship. You can’t do that in game so I’m wondering and hoping that we might get a camera update. Thanks.

I noticed the shuttle appears to have a droid on its nacelle. I don't remember seeing that before, but I can't say I look at shuttles too closely.

There are certain shuttles with Droids (same with certain fighters as well).

❤, it also looks like that space station in particular was dual sided and you can possibly enter from the far side and land just opposite of the center.

The first thing I noticed was that camera angle. I wonder if that front mounted/looking backward launch angle will be in game.

Imagine they would really have added space races and a new racer ship class! how awesome would that have been? NMS already has (or had?) racing functionality implemented for the exocrafts. They could have also upgrade and flesh out that.

So about the crossed racing flags, I went back to the game and the current Exocraft vendor has a "racing" thematic to their store too as of this post. For the sake of keeping my expectation in check i will say we won't be having any kind of racing or time trials and that just might be the Exocraft vendor besides the spaceship station.

I don't know if it's changed now, but there used to be an artificial cap on ship speed to allow time for load in and to help avoid pop in. There was a lot of testing done that showed after a certain point you would reach a top speed and while the numbers would still increase your actual speed would not. Don't know how that would work with racing.

I laughed at, " we still have shuttles in the game." I went to the Anomaly today 9 DEC23 and saw people using the shuttle... I'm like WHY????

If you free,e it at the right time, you can see on the left a door or vendor on the second floor and there is a very small third floor. 2 staircases on the left, but i cant make out what is on the little top platform. You can make out the back staircase to the third floor when you talk about the station core

Keeping my expectations in check, but the fact it’s supposedly called the “evolution” update makes me think we could be entering a new age for NMS

I'm going to toss out my speculation. They 4tg and final part of the void mother story is still coming and I think this will tie strongly into what's coming. The new ship could be a "void" type like the sentinel ships. The station has a definite purple hue. I think the new stations will either be existing stations changed due to that story conclusion or (more likely) will replace the deserted stations and/or in "uncharted" systems. I think this is the reason for the korvax life pod thing shown just outside of the station. Taken it for what it's worth but that's my theory. 😊
