Do a high clearance bumper cut. Use the lower line on the front not the line under the fog light but the one just as it rolls under.

I had the same problem. So udjusted the plastic splash guards a bit till the stopped rubbing then I lifted it 2 inches by putting in some tall boys. Let me tell you those tires flex like crazy which is great for sand and pump up perfect for the rainy season . Also going boing over the train tracks is fun

285/70/17's won't fit a stock 4runner. I have a level kit that raised the front 3" and 1.5" on the rear. Still had a little rub on the front at full turn and had to move in the fender liner and cut a 1/2" off the very inside of the body and had to remove the front mud guard. The back was fine. If you have wheel spaces ( i highly recommend staying away form them) then you will definitely have more rub and more body modification on the front. The body modification to the front took me 10 minutes. Key thing to remember is heating up the razor knife (i used a roofing blade) when cutting the lower inside body fender.

It most likely will rub without some trimming , full turn it will rub as well Has most of the same suspension parts as the Tacoma and on the Tacoma biggest you can run on stock suspension is 265 without some kind of mods or hacking up of the trim. Also consider getting cab mount chop if you are planning on going bigger

3" lift will still rub very lightly at full lock without a body-mount chop

A lift will NOT help with rubbing. When suspension articulates, you will STILL have the wheels going into the wheel wells, and into all of the places that they are supposed to be going. Anything larger than 275-70-17 is just for looks. Form over function is stupid.

Curious thing happened today. I put the Goodyear duratrac on my stock 2021 4runner SR5 , and they rub the mud flaps on a cambered turn! Stock 265/70 17!! Didn’t see that coming. Anything over stock with aggressive tread will rub and not be fun.

I'm running a 6" lift with 22s wrapped in 33s and they will only scrub in reverse. You can trim where they scrub and get yourself another inch or better.

Def won’t fit without chop or lift. I think the stock wheels aren’t 0 offset they are positive and sit in more. I got Method 703s and they are 0 offset and pop out more.

I got 35” on a 2nd gen Tacoma with only 2.5 lift up front , they only rub on very sharp turns or u turns but I have a plate bumper and cab mount has been chopped but they still rub. However I can run 315’s just fine for the most part, most likely gonna downsize back to 315’s. The 35’s put too much wear on the front suspension
