I used all the same rebuild parts in my stock case t-5 BUT, I did use all gforce internals and a cluster shaft support. I’m making 686wtq and abuse that thing! I have been running this for 15 years and have no complaints other then some noise from the almost straight cut gears.

Not boring at all for me !! I still run the T5 and about to rebuild it has 139XXX miles. Im just above 500 wheel hp i have 4.10s I run 1/8th mile. Very informative.

I just finished doing my t5 rebuild about 2 months ago. I also ended up replacing 2nd gear and 2nd gear slider along with the stabilizer. Working great so far. But a big addition to this video would be the adjustment nuts on the shifter and correctly adjusting those. If not you can easily break the shift forks.

It's easy bro I've had Hurst short throw & pro 5.0 I like the pro 5.0 shifter better both work fine just hold it in 4th aa far as you can run bolt up to leaver then a rotation or rotation & 1/2 just don't want to be 2 deep that's how I've done it since 95 had T5s forever I have a proshifted motorsports Z (weak break 3rd regularly I'd buy a gfoce now but there kit is good for just about any street car I have a old Doug Nash clutches 5speed also & 2 power glides I swap the Nash 5speed for the Glide if grudge racing but win I run the 5.70 heads up I use the ower glide just more consistent & the 16 car field is usually 5.70- 5.82 in 16 cars got 2 be on # & not slow on the light either seen many finals won off reaction time looser be faster but can't catch up without breaking out

I'm building a Factory5 Daytona coup. Shooting for 2200lb curb weight and around 350hp. Do you think the t5 is a foolish choice for a road course trans? The weight of the t5 is very attractive but i would rather not grenade a trans and sent my beauty into a tire barrier. Should i stop thinking a well build t5 in your opinion? Thanks in advance.

I've broke them on stock 302's(little port work) and have had them live with 375-400 motor. They broke(on me) WOT powershifts AND missing third gear and trying to jam it in there.. bad chit happened..lol

Great video! I did a rebuild with the counter shaft support plate and the trans tight with a slight preload . I took the case and all the internals and cryo treated them . They basically froze it them to -300 degrees for a few days then brought it back up to 300 f . I could tell that the metal had definitely changed the ring on the metal was higher pitched in comparison to another t5 case and gears I had . Paid 150 for treatment .

I was always amazed how some would take dozens of hits and others would give up the first time they hit a real tire, I had one took a ton and broke on a street tire 2-3 shift at 3200 rpm Burger King run so you never know

Ole Bangin Bob has been around for many many years and you are correct....they going to break lol but the G Force main case, cluster support, the metal bearing retainer an as you said preloaded bearings vs an input shaft wobbling around brings a good bit more durability

I’m new at this not at all experienced in transmissions but I have an 72 f100 that is on a crown Vic chassis with a 351w mildly built and I put a t5 in it out of a supposedly 94-95 mustang well I broke the 3rd and 4th shift fork I think is what it is well I had a whole other top with good forks so I put it on and put it back in the truck and I sent it pretty hard on a 1st 2nd then 3rd burnout as soon as I got it buttoned up and now it’s locked in 3rd I believe I need some help cause idk 😂 and also will the parts in the video work on a NWC trans.

EXCELLENT. THANK YOU. I have just been through the shit box rebuild by a "major" shop. Im thinking that I should buy a NEW T5z/251 from Tremec, rated 330 torque and 425 hp. Great content as alway. I have a question you could probably help. My 93 has a tremec 3500 that had synchros replaced and under normal driving it leaks from the top cover in front of the shifter. I made sure it is not overfilled. I clean it real good and within 5 miles, you can see oil coming out. I used penzoil syncromesh and also mobile one atf.

Hanlon is out of stock currently, I did however locate a new m-7000-a rebuild kit on eBay for $530 shipped. Swear it’s the cheapest I could find and I have been on several websites. Guess bidenomics has reached all corners of every market. I’m gonna order the rebuild video the bearing retainer, the cluster support plate, the hms 10 spline input shaft, and the 068R wc t5 cluster for now from Hanlon but I’m still gonna need 1st 2nd and 3rd gears for a v8. I just hope I don’t order the wrong parts!

This trans rebuild reinforcing a stock T5 would be simple. We need people like you to offer these service for people that don't know how to do this but are willing to pay like me. I have an 89 LX I am about to restore and most of the mechanical stuff like engine rebuild and trans I can't do. But I am having a hard time finding shops that know about these cars and can work on them. Just an idea, but if I'd easily buy an engine and trans from you I know others would too.
