Just bc ai has gotten involved in one thing in anime doesn't mean the anime industry would just start using ai on everyhing, it doesn't make any sense at the slightest. First of all a overwhelming majority in the industry recognizes good anime can only really be made be talented real people, and AI is nowhere anywhere near capable of being as creative as the countless individuals in the anime industry, from the writting, story, direction, animation etc basically every aspect i don't think the ai can get better at. idk why people only talk about the negative despite the anime industry having a bright future, we now get atleast 3-5 amazing animes every season of the year, there is always a standout stunning anime every season that has everyone's attention for good reasons.

I feel that A.I will be able to take care of the grunt work that comes with the industry which would leave more time and resources for animators to innovate. I know that it’s a trend to hate A.I currently but I likened the surge of the technology to something like the Industrial Revolution. Sure it’s not 1-to-1 but I hope you’re getting my point here. We’re reaching a point in time where animators do not need to slog away on their desks with terrible hours and pay. You still need someone to man the human aspects that come with the industry. As advanced as A.I can be, it can only ever mimic what we do instinctively Imo, for each job that A.I “takes away”, a new one pops up that is more efficient and is simply just a reflection of the times that we’re in
@natalimoina2 ай бұрын
A.I steals from actual artists. Plus it looks terrible. Not a good comparison either btw. Also, if you think it would somehow change animators working conditions and pay, you are unaware of the greediness of the higher ups and the system we live under.

Art is communication, who's communicating with you if it's a program? The 'prompt engineer'? The writer? Why would you want a writer if an AI can generate the script too? Who are you communicating with then? Intel? NVIDIA? Right now, artists still complain about 'stolen art' but just look at Christianity and Islam, those are missionary faiths and the people who are colonized by it at some time in history has a culture before it. I'm German, there's people who think "Hans" is German, but it's still Hebrew in origin. What I'm getting at is, it's not the technology that will change the scene, it will be people just getting made used to it until there is no more sense of heritage in the art. In 10-20 years AI art will of course be stunning, and few people will remember the sources. Especially the more 'transformative' the algorithms do it. Sense of composition by this artist. Lineweight by this artist. Coloring by that artist. THAT will be the true breakpoint of AI art. When the datasets are so munged up no artist will be able to claim identity, and people will have forgotten too. And those 'several artists' whose aspects are used, composition, lineart, coloring, etc will not be the only ones, of course. And there will be parameters that mess with the source too. Replicating one artists linework, but being able to make the lines a bit thicker than the artist usually would, or thinner, or reversing the flow of the strokes. Maybe he's left handed, or right handed, and draws a face in a certain order because of it. The erasure of source material, even when people are aware that it's often 'stolen' will be the breaking point. Cause no matter how good the algorithm ...it cannot create from thin air, someone has to prime it. It can be legit, but it still needs input. But after some time, there will be so much input that new input won't be needed anymore, but things can be generated from it. That will be the end of it. Then who is left? See above. Writers, etc, but they too can be replaced. Who will be communicating with us. Who do you thank for the AI art 20 years in the future?

The thing I don’t like about AI is how it can do something so easily in two seconds while humans could take hours, days, weeks, months or maybe years to complete. The ai can do it so simply that it’s not anything special because it’s not something that’s put to thought, time, creativity or effort to make. It will just make the creation boring and unappreciative
@kyperactive2 ай бұрын
Thats only if you give it boring prompts though? Shocker: Tech doesnt work as well if you neuter what it can work with 😂
@Miraihi2 ай бұрын
Even with AI you can't create something good in two seconds. A really good AI art actually needs at least your own sketch and color mask. The better you are as an actual artist, the better you are at using AI. Inform yourself at what ControlNet is. Online Ai-art services are practically worthless for any serious work with rare exceptions. It's not even about the quality of the prompts.

eh i dont think so, anime is too complex and too grounded in culture for it to be replaced fully by ai, plus ai isnt good enough to push out huge or even minor projects just yet. on top of that people are VERY nitpicky about animation, so the community as a whole wont appreciate it which will make less money for animation studios. overall its not really possible for it be replaced just yet.
@Miraihi2 ай бұрын
AI is perfectly possible to integrate into the animators workflow, to add the fine detail for example, or for semi-automated in-betweens. Japanese animators mostly don't work on in-betweens anyway, those get outsourced. Of course all that automation won't bring higher salaries, but it is also improbable that the animators who already work for pennies get exploited even further. There is a finite number of people who have what it takes to do that job.

Ai keyframing and inbetween frames are 100% going to be a net positive. It will reduce massive grunt labour requriements and would allow for more creative freedom as there would be more budget and less time constraints. Also we might finally get a great Berserk Adaptation.
@Ligmaballzallthetime2 ай бұрын
Correction : the budget will actually be cut. No producer is missing out on the opportunity to put in as less money as possible despite what creative aspirations the animation team might have. By eliminating those tasks, as menial as they can be It's just going to incentize execs to cut corners as our value will be driven down by AI. So no, more creative freedom will never come at the hands of AI. It happens in spite of it.

Animators are people who enjoy labor, because animation is nothing BUT labor. If you want to do less work, then you're not an animator. In fact, I am going so far with this that I actually consider all those "super camera spin sakuga" animators less of animators than subtle ones. Why? Because it's actually easier to draw 5 disjointed frames with big spacing between them and with the camera moving wildly than subtle animation with lots of overlap. You won't see much line boiling and volume warping if you animate a run toward the camera that has the character first 10pixels tall, then 80, then 200, then 500, then 1000. It will still look like a dash toward the camera but due to the nature of the big differences, you can be less tight. You can be more relaxed cause the brain fills in the gaps, and leaving big gaps in 'flashy animation' goes hand in hand with that. Masterpieces are created by the animators who don't shy away from work. And going "well we'll just interpolate to 60 frames and then cut and hold certain frames to make it choppy and more human again!" is not a magical solution either. It can look floaty without planning for it in the first place, etc. There's always labor, and the more you cut, the less good it will be, even if the end result is still 'decent'. You cannot make masterpieces with it.
@xandex692 ай бұрын
@@JewTubeUsername nah
@hansbrackhaus80172 ай бұрын
@@xandex69 He's right, though. How would you feel about drawing 5 frames that are very subtle, but require the redrawing of the entire body. Does not sound like fun, I bet, but this kind of subtlety can elevate something to masterpiece status and wrangling an AI that many times probably comes out boiling AF. If I asked you to animate an elderly woman softly and smoothly sprinkling herbs into a bowl she also softly sways with her other hand, would you want to do it? Would you ask for CGI instead? AI? An animator who does it for the craftsmanship will do this. Someone who just wants to get paid for 'good enough' to pay the rent, probably wouldn't. Does it really matter? Not truly, if the story is got conveyed it's got conveyed. But it won't be something like the secret of nimh or the cobbler and the thief. Ever. it is unattainable by the less work preferred animator.
