Mis-alignment in the rear end is the result of a center bolt for the leaf spring its cracked off, typical seen this many times. the bolt costs about $2.00 and about an hour to repair

@@af5579 I should also add the reason why the center bolt sheared off in the first place is because the rear end shifted most likely due to one of the following reasons: 1/ one of the rear end U-bolts is broken , that repair costs about 7 or $8.00 2/ The truck was over-loaded at one point and one of the main leaf springs(the shortest one) that has the hole in it to accompany the center bolt is cracked off as well in the center and part of that leaf is missing, consequently to repair the center bolt, replacing new U-bolts is most always a consideration since the U-bolts have to be removed / gas-axed anyway to replace the center bolt. At any rate, replacing a main leaf is approx $30-$40.00 cheaper if you can get it in a scrap yard. All can be fixed for under $50.00 if you do the work yourself.

Check out Vise Grip garage at the 5:00 minute mark ,kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4WVanyNYtWqrJI this scary when you think about it how easy it is to lose a rear end due t bad U-bolts , he caught this in time when adding a lift kit. This is also an awesome channel for gear heads, this guy is funny.

@@callmegeorge I've only had B. i did have one I couldn't figure out until after I sold it. The Phoenix had a bad fuel pump of all things. The other tank worked fine, I just didn't know how to prime the engine as I never dealt with an older truck with a fuel problem. The Phoenix got it's name because it was burnt half to hell BTW. Everything behind the cab and part of the cab too was singed and melted.

Most gas had ethanol 14 years ago, that was 2005 (I wasn't done watching the video, and literally the first thing out of his mouth when I unpaused it was 2005). He probably had to find gas without ethanol though, my first car (72 El Camino) wouldn't run worth a crap on premium with ethanol, I had to feather the throttle to keep it running. Without ethanol it would start quicker than any fuel injected car I've had since, pump the gas once and turn the key and she'd roar to life.

Dustin Tunis dude that old no ethanol gas runs so much better than ethanol. I remember down in VA one time we put no ethanol fuel in my moms Subaru crosstreck, it literally got 10 more miles a gallon and started on the first compression stroke. That old no ethanol gas is more efficient, burns cleaner, and is so much better for the engine cause ethanol is like liquid San paper for engines.

There's nothing wrong with it. It's just that he's trying to drive it like a 4 speed car when what he has is a 4 speed truck transmission where 1st is a UN-synchronized, creeper gear. If he'd leave 1st alone and start out on 2nd, he'd have no problem.

I would say that it appears to me as i was watching video that everything around there was well kept wether it was old or not .. meaning the fella you bought it from took care of his stuff so therefor making it easy for these trucks to start up .. it makes a world of difference when things are well kept up maintence wise !! 👍

That's the thing about bias ply tires add air a drive for a bit and that flat spot kinda goes away I've had lots of those I usually deal with Chevy but I like some Ford's to I had a 77 f150 I was fixing up but didn't get a chance to finish it wish I still had it and a few of the other vehicles I've had I prity much grew up in junkyards made lots of things run that everyone else gave up on my first car came out of a junkyard 81 firebird last year of the second gens

Judging from the fuel that came out, there's no way it was 14 years old. Someone was in that relatively recently.

Kevin, I reckon you should propose to your mates, Luke, Dylan and all, to turn the F-250 usually, into a recovery truck. You know, to use when you pick up a revival project. All the best from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I’ve driven a few of those old four speed manual trucks. First gear was called a “granny” gear and only used if you needed to go really slow, like spreading gravel with a dump truck, or if you were starting up from a dead stop with a full load. With no load, or just a few tools in the truck you started in second and drove it like a three speed. By the way, since that was when trucks were built to work, not for commuting to work, about 1% came from the factory with misaligned rear ends. Nobody worried about it because they weren’t trying to drive 75mph to keep up with traffic.

Saw that. Could be a bad frame or the rear end is tweaked. Looks like it's kicked out on the driver's side. Need to measure wheel base on each side. If it's off, it's the rear end needing to be re-hung. Not difficult. If it's a bad frame... well...That too can be fixed but, a little more involved. Whatever it is, it's a cool a$$ truck!
