Two years later I seeing this video I just wanted to point out that the first carburetor actually will work as well. Just unscrew the top two screws and simply rotate and screw it back together and it's ready to be installed in your redmax.

AHHHH Perfect, thinking if I flipped it, the internal holes wouldn't align and it would not work. Appreciate the tip!

Me too except some of the echo backpack blower ones! Mainly the 500’s. I know you are suppose to swap the linkage BUT you shouldn’t have 🤙🏻🔧🦅🇺🇸 Merry Christmas Mr Border!

I have the same red max but it won’t idle it will be fine for anything over idle not sure if it’s a carb issue or not

When was the last time you changed the fuel filter? How does the air filter look?

I’m about 50/50 on Chinese carbs. Since most of my customers are long-term, I will offer the OEM carb and explain the price difference. That way if a year goes bye and the carb starts acting up I will tell them it was their choice to go aftermarket. Makes things simple. Most times they will spend 60 versus 30 knowing they have OEM, especially if it’s a high dollar piece of equipment.

Im running an aftermarket carb on my Husky 560BFS aka Redmax. 2 years with no issues. Some of the echo carbs long term are an issue. Before I signifiantly upgraded from a 265LN, I was installing a new carb every year. I just wrote it off as seasonal service since it was less than $20.

A lot of factors here; quality of gas mix, ethanol Vs non- ethanol, keeping fuel in it all year... Most Chinese Carbs develop corrosion if allowed to dry out and clogging if fuel is kept in. Just my 0.02!

@@KensSmallEngineRepair, at less than $20 I was more than happy to swap out carb and repower kit. I got good at it LOL

Thank you Mr. P! There is no need to apologize especially when you are CORRECT! At work the Legends (Nice way of calling them "old") remind me if they ever see me. MORE now than ever since the concrete is cold due to weather. A HAPPY NEW YEAR to the the family and you!
