You know, because the scoring system basically doubles each round in *Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?*, it kind of exaggerates how well or poorly the players did. Like, it's easy to look at Eric's 500,000 and say that he got more than all of his opponents combined. And on the opposite end, to look at Graysie's 1,000 points and say she barely made any progress. But if you look at how many questions they got right, their performances were significantly closer: Eric 26 (13 + 13) Nick 21 (12 + 9) Geoff 19 (12 + 7) Gavin 20 (11 + 9) Graysie 10 (6 + 4) Now you can see that while Eric's score was more than triple Nick's, it was only a matter of 5 questions. And while Graysie lost, her margin of defeat against Gavin goes from 80:1 to 2:1. Interestingly, Gavin actually answered more questions correctly than Geoff, but Geoff wound up with more points solely because he went one round further on his better run.

Eric could have walked away with $1,000,000 total if he had trusted his gut, and absolutely *NOT* trusted Edward. Rory and New Zealand were both correct. That's not to understate the lead he DID get. If you add everyones score together and subtract it from his score, the difference would still be with enough points to be the winning competitor.
