Love this hand. I had a very similar runout with an opponent about a week ago, he also led out out for just under pot, I had A-high flush draw. Like you, I thought about his missed straight draws/smaller flush draws, but then...... folded. And he showed me the smaller flush draw.

I was thinking, "imagine if he had like 5c2c, that would be horrific" but I thought some type of combo draw was way more likely - 5c4c, or 9c8c were clear contenders. Or maybe a backdoor flush draw with hearts and a front door straight draw.

If we think we accidentally lose can we jam the river?! I mean that’s pretty wild to even think about doing but it seems viable.

This hand is a great lesson - when villain starts off with his x-raise there are tons of value hands and bluff hands he can represent. However as the board runs out there are fewer and fewer value hands. Your hand is on the cusp of what you can call - even Queen high is at risk of occasionally losing to bluffs containing Kc though that would be rare because villain has to worry about hero having Ac when he x-raises the flop.
@DrivenTrucking Жыл бұрын
You animal, nice call
@iammark30110 ай бұрын
when he pulled back his bet on the turn, I guess 32 type hand, mostly because it empowers overpairs to continue when board matches second pair. Villains check, raise was designed to win on the flop - any plans he had were squashed on the turn, and it was a desperation bet on the river Sometimes in your assessment, I do not hear you talking about what the villain might do with certain hands and that is understandable because you are defending versus range likely hands at each progression Would you do the same thing J4 😂 always interesting and entertaining Bart, Thank you so much for everything you do for the community.

My best hero call was calling 500 on the river with king high. Had a flush draw, and the other huge stack at the table and I had been battling all night. Flop was J-10-9, and the way he played it, I just went, he’s got a queen 100%, he’s bluff raising with the open ender and I locked my read in. His Open ender missed and my K8 flush draw and other open ender missed. He fired 500 into 900, I snap called and said show me the queen (praying he didn’t river the 3 at the end) and he flips over Q4 and the table just looks like 😮 Wouldn’t normally advise anything like this, but that guy took everyone else’s money and then I took all of his

If positions were reversed, a lot of things would change… such as limp call, you raising from blinds, the turn would play exceptionally differently… like that would mean you bet and got raised and he checked back the turn
