You are supposed to let the car completely cool off before driving it. Makes sense. The sealer has to harden and it gives it more time to seal. Also, directions state to pour the sealer in thru the top radiator hose. Not the resevoir

Chrysler 2.7 liter engines are notorious for water pumps failing which destroys most of these engines and slugging issues.

You have to use bars sealant and when you finish you have to make sure you fill the radiator up through the hose because the tank doesn’t fill the radiator up

Bro now I'm afraid I just wasted some money buying a head gasket kit, timing kit, water pump and radiator... Smh. Everything I'm seeing about these engines, people are saying don't waste your time.... Damn. I already got everything I need to do the job! Now I feel stupid for even thinking of fixing it... Since I already have the parts would I be wasting my time to do head gaskets and timing? SMH
@TerenceDIY4 жыл бұрын
There's no way I would do that Job. You may have bought the kit but GOD forbid if the heads are warped! If you remove the heads, you're going to have to take them to get inspected. Period! So in my honest opinion, it's a waste of time and money. I would swap the engine out (in which I have done before) than to do a head job on that engine. I am not trying to discourage you either. Just sharing my thoughts through experience. Thanks for watching!

@@jacobramos1672 when water pump breaks on those engines...it leaks coolant into the oil similar to a bad gasket would look..to change the wp is a pain and if you do change the wp do the timing chain while you have it apart...this motor ending in 7 is the worst dodge engines ever

I was in the same position with my 2006 Chrysler 300 with the 2.7 liter engine. Same exact engine. No mechanic would do the job, but I needed to fix it so I bought the repair manual, watched a lot of KZbin videos and then I dove into it. Before that I had only done oil changes and brake pads, so this was a very scary and intimidating job for me, but I made it through, one step at a time, got the heads out, took them to a machine shop where they were checked and shaved down to give me a perfect flat mating surfaces and I reinstalled with the new head gaskets. The trickiest part is making sure the timing is where it should be because everything shift when you remove the first cam bolt. But fortunately, I managed to get it all back together and it started up and ran great! Total cost for me to replace my own head gaskets = $35. Saved myself over $1500. For me it was totally worth the effort as I still drive this car today and it's still going strong, although it's time for me to replace my timing chain now, so, fingers crossed, I'm driving back in!

I think you may have gotten some results if you poured it through the top radiator hose.
@TerenceDIY4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jay, I don't think no product would have given results! Lol. I have dealt with a few of these problems, but this was the first time I tried blue devil to temporarily fix one. Thanks for watching!

@@TerenceDIY so where do you suppose to actually pour it ? I have the 07 charger and the car keeps overheating but my car isn’t smoking while running it isn’t shutting off on me and it isn’t knocking it’s just only getting hot that’s it
@TerenceDIY3 жыл бұрын
@@SexyTrappaTv , you have to remove the coolant and replace it with water and the blue devil. I highly doubt that it will fix your problem especially if you have the 2.7.

Doesn’t regular water have contaminants that are bad for the engine? Build up and what not? I’ve just been told it’s better to use distilled
@TerenceDIY3 жыл бұрын
Hi Trystan, that is the case however, the containments are so minute, it will not have an effect on the engine. I've seen water used in replacement of antifreeze (summer time only) since I started working on cars at 11 years old. LOL Thanks for watching!

@@TerenceDIY Head gasket broken between cylinder and coolant. Same problem here and I swapped out the busted bleeder and put in a new thermostat as well.
