Another big thing Id hope they’d do is try to reimagine how very certain characters from 5 and 6 play kit wise. Most were fine but I sensed some of them felt either stuck in the past or really limited/gimmicky. Ultimately failing to be kits that were really intriguing to a large variety of people to play them beyond die hard fans of those select characters. Not to mention certain new characters failing to live up to the player fantasy that their character descriptions of them AND their fighting styles portray. A new doa in any form sparks opportunity to flesh out or rework the newer additions in all character and gameplay related ways.

If I could have it my way I’d have a master collection of 1-4 that actively updates and adds things onto those already timeless classics including more recent 5 and 6 characters into those games with more maps, online mode and updated fighting mechanics. Maybe even extra mini stories for the new characters here or there? But then that’s probably asking for too much. Ill say it rn, there should only be ONE “little girl” in doa and that should be Marie cause her whole character from her personality, design and martial is centred around her being THE petite fighter. The other two should be altered physically design wise with both their models and aesthetics to not come close to looking as extremely small or young as she looks. 1 of them was unique, 3 is a crowd.

There was supposed to be a game that focuses on the childhoods of the Mugen Tenshin Ninjas along with Helena called DOA Code Chronos, but it was canceled in 2010 after more that 300 Tecmo employees filed a lawsuit against the president for unpaid wages and bonuses.

Cool stuff cool vibes. I had tons of thoughts to share for this. I really like how this game plays like and paces VF was unfortunately not my cup of tea so, I am glad that last winter sale gave it huge discount for me to finally try it out. The funny part about Ryu is that I eyed on him first since I am huge ninja gaiden simp. I tried him a bit and saw of the inputs had me going like I can see why he is really hard to play. Big props to MASTER for being able to play him at such level. This resulted me to use kasumi instead. Although, after going through doa6 tutorial (which was one of the best I have ever got) I have grown to like Hitomi a lot. Her buttons are raw her combo and oki stuff 100% aligned to my agenda. I was surprised that there are people playing this game online in ranked and surprisingly for an old netcode it was playable for a 1 bar even though the input lag and stuff sucks. Now I am having a time of my life by playing this game and T8 at the same time. I needed something in between for 3D games session and doa is the one I was looking for. This game also helped me a lot by transferring reading skills to tekken and more awareness to the stages..etc. I wish I got in to this series sooner which I feel could have helped me a ton while playing Tekken at the same time. I do feel this series has a hope and deserves another chance. Maybe Last Round treatment is going to come first before DOA7

Kokoro - is the best character for Virtua Fightet. She has tag with Akira, and she is a More cute version of akira. She have some sort of half-stances like every character in VF5 have. She also wear her traditional pink kimono, i think she is the best choice. Lei Fang is also not bad, with her back strike, pretty fit in VF style. Mila not bad, but she is like Brad in VF. I think, characters like Kasumi or Hayate - is too ninja. Ein is good, but Jean is just quite same karate style (as Hitomi too). Rig is also perfect choice from mans cast, becase he have stance, like a male-version of Sarah. Jan lee and Eliot is also good.

DoA is all about graphics. DoA 2 was when the game started to blow up and it was because of the mindblowing graphics at the time. And again with DoA 3 and DoA4. Those games look really really great. Revolutionary even. Things start to get lame in DoA 5. Now everyone else catched up with DoA graphics and they can no longer be said as the best. DoA 6 just cemented further that they are not the leading brand in graphics anymore. I hope they would only make DoA 7 when they have a breakthrough in the graphics department. Get rid of the blood, sweat and dirt nonsense. Make DoA look pristine and beautiful. Embrace the doll-like aesthetics and just double down on the environmental interactivity and stage design. Lean more to the sexy ninjas lore because it's way more interesting than bumbling schoolgirls non-story.

Unless you've got intel that some of the OG devs are back on board, I don't see it happening. And even if they did, it's better to wait and see what VF is cooking first. You don't want to send out a rushed DoA7 and steal Tekken 8's spot as the game that gets unfavorably compared to VF. But if VF triggers a 3D fighter revival, then you want to be ready to surf that wave. If VF instead botches the landing, then position yourself to be the savoir nobody expected. So have a team ready to get to work in either case.

DOA Dimensions for the 3DS was my introduction to DOA as a whole and I played DOA5 from Vanilla to Last Round and loved every single minute of it both online and offline. And the less said about DOA6 the better. For me, if DOA returns in the future, it NEEDS content and gameplay that's on par with DOA5 for me to get invested IMO.

If DOA does come back this year, i hope it's a reboot. One which does all of the things i wish it does in terms of character redesigns, aesthetic, music, story, gameplay, stage design etc.. etc.. But that's kinda the problem with it tho isn't it, there are too many people who want different things. the coomers, the gameplay enthusiasts, the casuals who think it's too "anime". DOA has had a self-inflicted identity crisis for a while now, and it would take a genius to make the series beloved by everyone again. Make it too serious and the rule 34 enthusiast ain't gonna like it (tbh most people won't like it, i'm not gonna spend hours explaining it in a youtube comment, but in short, people simply like attractive characters. I feel DOA has the problem of depicting attractiveness in a very shallow softcore porn type of way, female characters dressed/designed appropriate for their personality and fighting style can still be attractive. Feel like mila for example would still have a lot of fans even if she was more of a muscle mommy and didn't look like a 18 year old spaghetti armed child) make it too "anime", and pretty much most of the casual audience ain't gonna even look at it. Like i'm sorry DOA fans, but by simply including marie rose and honoka, there are gonna be a percentage of people who will simply not bother playing the game. I don't agree with those people, i think you can do marie rose in a way that it works better (or at least keep her out of the western marketing), but its the truth of the matter. and for the gameplay people, we have seen what adding mechanics did to the player base in DOA6. te fuck i know what you should do in terms of adding and removing gameplay mechanics. DOA is already imo a very casual friendly fighting game, it's hard to do much of anything without pissing off the still existing playerbase i feel. there is a balance here, but it's way too easy to fuck it up. I don't envy the one who is going to make another DOA game. (if there ever will be a new game that is)

I really think they wont announce anything besides Prism this year for DOA. The only real hope we DOA fans have will be next year for the series big 30th anniversary and hope they pull a VF6 and give us a sequel. I could be wrong, but that's what it looks like at this point especially as we don't know anyone at Team Ninja who actually knows what DOA is and stands for and they should keep the fanservice of 1-5, just stop making it the MAIN MARKETING of the game. I’m predicting DOA6 Ultimate or something. I doubt they will go straight into DOA7 or a new DOA right away. They need some kind of a collection or re-release to generate interest. DOA6 hold up aesthetically so a slight graphical touch up with a mechanical overall or improvement with new modes like Tag and trying to fix the game’s weaker aspects then add new characters. Plus with Rollback net code. I see that as a more likely outcome than a brand new game.

@Yeah I forgot about stages too especially since DOA6 stages are pretty ass when compared to previous games. So yeah returning stages and I mean they should bring back some classics like the Great Wall or Aerial Gardens. DOA6 is the most recent one so they can go back easily work on top of it to drastically change it and add more to it (characters, stages, mechanics, etc). It should be easier to get back into working on than VF5 was for VF5US & REVO. Like I said DOA6 really holds up so they can still work off it. Maybe port it to their new engine if it’s more comfortable for them.
