Absolutely not. I haven't had so much fun driving since I own a BEV

Normally hyper Tesla people are cringe as hell, but that 90s style lowrider was pretty sweet. I think a Lyriq or a Lucid would fit that style better though.

I’m a car enthusiast and I just bought a Tesla but still have my Camaro. Ngl the transition from gas to electric hasn’t been easy. It’s so much fun tho

I'd miss heel and toe braking, rev matching downshifts, the sound and vibration. I find even automatic ice cars extremely boring to drive.

Great video, specially liked the low rider Tesla that was really cool.

Pretty cool spread of different enthusiasts. Did you guys get full interviews from each of those venders? The guy with the junction box thing seemed cool and I think is a great way to expand the charging network.

Yeah, we did interviews with each one.

Yup, you are classic 'nurdism'. Well done! Why have I not seen more on this EV personal modifications theme? I hope this is just the tip of the iceberg. Bring us more!

This is a poor example of new age car enthusiasts. Actual new age enthusiasts are swapping Tesla drive units into classic muscle. Are building EV Hotrods and swapping gas engines into Teslas. These are just Tesla fans. Reminds me of the old PT Cursier crowd

What other EV that has this kind of fan following?
@treads25953 ай бұрын
I would 100% be interested in a Tesla as I don't find EVs boring at all. However, the thought of giving Elon Musk even a dime of my money makes me want to hurl. As such, I'll be spending my EV money elsewhere.
@solarguy48503 ай бұрын
Musk is an ass for sure, but Tesla vehicles are too good to pass up. No one else has the combination of range / performance / quality / features / tech for the money. Heck, no one else even has an autopilot that works on all highways .. let alone one that is close to FSD on everything including city streets. I tend to reward people (and puppies) for the things they do right. I will not use twitter though and I’ll continue to speak out against Musk’s dumb comments.

@@solarguy4850 Well put from a Tesla fanboy perspective, however "too good to pass up" does not hold true for any single brand. "Range / performance / quality / features / tech for the money" is subjective to the individual not the brand. FSD is mis-labeled because it is operator dependent for driving. GM's Super Cruise is the direction I prefer to use, not tesla's method. Blue cruise is another well liked hands free driving system that is popular. Do not forget that you can easily in 2024 fully stay away from musk on moral grounds by not buying his product and still fully enjoy your purchase. I enjoy my EV for not being just another tesla. Musk is an ass for sure, so why reward him? Enjoy your ride, I am, just not in a tesla.
@lauratreadwell44363 ай бұрын
@@solarguy4850 I will admit that Tesla vehicles are good at what they do. However, the other manufacturers are starting to produce some compelling vehicles. I think the Ford Mach E and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 are vehicles that people would be happy with, especially since they will soon have access to the Tesla Supercharger network. Musk isn't just making dumb comments. He's sending his money to the convicted felon. He's essentially turned driving a Tesla into wearing a red MAGA hat. That's enough to disqualify me from buying a Tesla vehicle while he's connected to the company.

@@kelviskelvis7140I’m also not really a fan of teslas. Sure they have crazy acceleration but let’s be honest, you aren’t driving in insane mode everyday. Plus, that instant acceleration is only thrilling for a little bit. I recently took a test drive of a Tesla as well as sat in the back of Ubers and I just found it really bumpy and rough riding, annoying in terms of doing things different for the sake of it like the weird turn signals stalks, and somewhat distracting with the way everything is bundled into the screen. I’d be down to buy an EV, but I’d prefer doing it from a Ford, GM, or Hyundai/Kia instead.

Love my used 2023 Volvo C40 Recharge at $28K. I know, it is not as good of an EV as Tesla, but it works for me and doesn't make He Who Must Not Be Criticized richer.

You cannot turn the output shaft on an internal combustion engine by hand, It takes effort with a long ½ inch breaker bar It takes a lot of horse power just to turn itself because there is a lot of friction inside, a lot of parts wearing each other out So much complexity, most of which has negative effect and/or is not to produce power but to overcome the inherent problems of the internal combustion engines design that cannot be engineered out * Cooling system * Oil system * Cylinder, Piston, Rings * Crankshaft * Camshaft and Lifter system * Ignition System * Fuel Injection system * Exhaust System * Turbocharger * Supercharger * Clutch-Torque Converter * Transmission * Dozens of Emission Systems * Dozens of Diagnostic systems You can turn an electric motor's output shaft with your bare hand The electric motor only need a handful of supporting components to function While the electric motor also has a cooling system it has much much less heat to remove A V8 ice engine has a few power pulses during one revolution of the output shaft outside of those the power is drained by the internal friction The electric motor has dozens of power pulses during one revolution of the output shaft with very little internal friction

It will be a new generation of enthusiasts. Hot rodding will be open to more since it takes fewer skills and tools to convert a car to electric. There are lots of folks who could never rebuild an engine or get everything hooked up from a crate but they can install a EV kit.

Just wait until the EV drag racers stop being sissies and modify their EVs to be able to quickly swap out the original batteries, which are made with energy cells for range to smaller power cells for faster burst of power And when AutoZone and other third party parts manufacturers start manufacturing and or rebuilding EV batteries much cheaper People keep gasping at the $20K price for EV batteries when it is the Auto Manufacturers who have always had super high prices for replacement parts
