Carvey is just an animal, he's too good for even the best of them. True genius.

OMG. This is pure genius. I could watches _hours_ of the Biden stuff too. It’s bloody wonderful. How very important humour is, is certainly not lost to my ancient English soul. I just learned G dubblya Bush was _appointed_ not elected. Wtf!? How did that happen? Can it reoccur?

When does the comedy start?
@dudermcdudeface3674 Жыл бұрын
No offense, but the mainstream comedy bits about these guys were always painfully tame and socially irrelevant. W especially was a legit homicidal maniac, and the whole time that was going on, the most incisive thing you folks could think of to mock him with were his mannerism quirks and odd word choices. It was surreal seeing comedians function as a volunteer PR department for these sickos for years and years.

You clearly have never written for major network television.

@@Marklennon There was a time-honored solution to network interference: Ignore it and dare them to fire you. Worked out pretty well for Norm MacDonald and Bill Maher.
@Marklennon Жыл бұрын
@@dudermcdudeface3674 Time-Honored…you named two examples within a three year period. And getting fired is your definition of working out? Norm and Bill both wrote their own material unlike Will and Dana who had corporate writers give them a script.
@dudermcdudeface3674 Жыл бұрын
@@Marklennon I'm referring to Norm and Bill's careers after losing their spots. And you're basically dismissing Will and Dana as hired help with no creative input in their own performances, which I wouldn't accuse them of.
@Marklennon Жыл бұрын
@@dudermcdudeface3674 I get that it did happen to work out for them but you couldn’t have guaranteed it would have. Say that Dana Carvey got fired then went on to make Master of Disguise. He didn’t work for eight years after. It worked out for Norm because he’s a legend. It worked out for Bill because HBO was marketing themselves as “well we’ll let you say anything” And didn’t mean to diminish Will and Dana’s role they played in the process they’re both great writers. I was just saying in the SNL world Will/Dana would’ve possibly pitched the idea but a sketch writer would’ve always penned the sketch.
