Energy cannot be created or destroyed. The worker could of used a broom and swept the floor much faster than wasting expensive zip ties and bricks to strap to a machine that is randomly moving the debris around not sweeping. I wouldn't fire the guy I might talk to him more often cause he does have a good idea .

Long history short: My dad Got a contract where he had to take out old window frames( heavily corroded because it was by the sea) from a 1950's warehouse. Hired my uncle for helping him. It was a 2 week job. My father went for some tools and took him like 2 hours to return. When he came back my Uncle had managed to tear off half of the frames with the overhead crane😂

Amen to that. I've been blessed with my own work space in last job, did everything in first 4h of my shift while office personnel were still at work, was chilling last 4h after they go home. Often even would go home shortly after they left, never had a problem apart one letter from HR telling I should always clock out, to which my answer was let her come down and do my job for a day, never been bothered after😂

No, any proper boss would fire him lol. The device is meant to polish the floor and the operator is meant to ensure proper coverage. This thing is going over the same spot and making the floor uneven and doesn't get coverage lol. A funny joke? Yes. A serious solution? Only to the brain dead. Plus, he's left a high speed rotating device moving around the shop with an exposed electrical cable and he has illegally cable tied the Deadman switch. An injury and a lawsuit waiting to happen. They used to show you what the results of industrial accidents look like in your safety course-have you ever seen a finger that was completely flexible because the bones were pulverised? Mess around with rotating devices like this, and it's a matter of time until you have one of your own.

That would be better. You need to do this EVENLY. This way it's the machine will make a groove and stick to that once it's deep enough and NOT spread evenly like it should. With a stick tou can do it better if you don't want to bend down. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Eh, wouldn't say he is working smarter or even less hard. These tools are simple to operate onehanded while still doing a good job, so you could just use your phone while at it just fine. Instead this guy left the work quality to chaos while it's impossible to say how long it'll take for the "robot" to do a passable job. It'll surely need a few battery swaps at least

It's more ingenious than it appears. The sander's direction will always favor the turn, but the friction of the unpolished floor will give feedback. With enough time and battery, it will be perfectly polished and a more even surface, bc the pressure is completely consistent. 🤷

I had a boss once that would literally give me overtime to watch me find the simplest solutions to all his tasks and laugh. Then again, come audit days from head office I could also do the tasks the way they was intended. Really wish I didn't move half the country away as that was an easy life we did pillow and quilt manufacturing the guy had no issue with me napping when handballing them onto a truck as I was always ahead of schedule.
