It's so quiet... how is this possible. That's what I kept asking myself while testing this. So, in this video I test to see if this is a viable replacement for my current steaming/capture PC. Will I replace it?

being 8k capable isn't much of an incentive right now, considering an 8k monitor (if you can find one) will easily cost more than the PC itself...by the time 8k becomes the norm and takes over everything that's 4k you're looking at a good 6 or 7 yrs from now...in which case there will be better mini pc's by that time.😄

I went the Mini PC route,7-8yeara ago. Never looked back. Currently I have AsRock DeskMini X300 with R5 5600G. Everyth8ng is blazing fast, and the only 2 games i play,I get 60FPS.

Definitely cool. Style points for the tiny package that also comes with a price premium. Seems close to a laptop price with a battery and a screen. I can't decide between this and the ASRock deskmeet. The deskmeet is not this small, but upgradability in regards to CPU and GPU are better even if you do have to stay around a 65w CPU.

In my experience with minisforum I've seen they have already multiple performance options to choose from. On my ryzen 4800h and ryzen 6900hx minisforum minipc theres a simple setting in BIOS to change from auto (max 65w, mostly 54w short stress test, and 45w for prolonged stress tests or gaming). But in there you can choose from a locked 15watts to 28, 30, 45 or 54.

I'll get the hx200g when it's out. I think this form factor is going to replace most laptops. Just add a tablet monitor. More wattage and easier cooling. I'm planning to get some Xreal glasses which will be great for mobile use. Can't wait til Xreal upgrades to 1440p or even 4K. Just want it for virtual monitors.

I think this might be the fastest mini pc that you could put hackintosh in. With 96gb ddr5 sodimm ram and 4tb nvme gen 4 and a slot to upgrade, it makes a for a very compelling contender against a mac mini or mac studio (given how much it would cost to have 64gb or 96gb ram and 4tb or more in those...)

Top bit of kit, have the prevoius gen HX99G (R9 6900HX + 6600M) which provides a great gaming/work flow experience (easy to upgrade also, which is nice).

I’m having trouble with whokeys. I ended up buying this exact mini PC and I bought a whokey for Win 10 Pro, but the key just wont go through. I bought a Win 11 Pro key and same result. How do i get the upgrade done? Did I miss a step? The device came with a RETAIL product key. Does the RETAIL product key channel interrupt the OEM product key channel? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Crazy how powerful these things are getting. I've been dealing with frustration all weekend as I haven't been able to get AMD's chipset drivers to update in 2 years and I took another crack at it this weekend. It still says installation failed no matter what I try. I think I'm going to have to reinstall Windows and I just don't want to as it's a pain to get all that setup again, plus I've got a modded game playthrough in progress and I'm afraid if I don't finish it I won't be able to get all the mods installed just right so I can resume it.

Try ddu display driver uninstaller then reinstalling your and software

@@ydok400 I ran DDU when I switched from a 5700 XT to a 3080 and it made no difference as far as installing the chipset drivers goes. I’ve tried AMD’s uninstaller utility, the Microsoft troubleshooter uninstaller, etc., removed every AMD everything, installer always fails. The main thing I want is the power management it puts in the Balanced power plan, as if I don’t cap my 5900X at 99% it will idle at 60-65C. Capped at 99% it idles around 37-45C. Reinstalling Windows would take care of it but that’s a lot of work.

You can use PCIe over USB4 on this, but it'll be an imperfect use case. There's an overhead penalty in converting the USB4 to PCIe. I would sooner recommend the UM780XTX for your use case, as it does not have an internal GPU (that you wouldn't be using) and it does have OCuLink, which is literally "four PCIe lanes on the back of the PC in a DisplayPort-looking connector". No USB4 overhead. Bonus points that because it doesn't have the DGPU internal, it's physically a smaller device.

4k at 120 Hz is no problem in Windows desktop mode. But you can't play games smoothly in such high resolution, it will end up in a slideshow. HDR also doesn't make sense at all if you don't connect the pc to an OLED monitor, all other display types will not be real hdr.

But if it can't 4K @ 120HZ then it would be useless to me regardless. In hind sight, I guess I could have just looked up the GPU specs lol. Thanks.

Guys I have the hx99g, does anyone knows how to clean the radiator from dust? Unfortunately my room has a moquette and the cpu fan is always speeding, it means a lot of dust... I'm a bit scary of open it up because if I detach the cooling system from the cpu I will have no idea about how to put back a new liquid metal so I wanted to know if someone could help me out with this..

Please can I ask if there's a way to "Power on via USB" on this? (maybe a setting in bios??). It's important for me, because I wan't to use it in an arcade cabinet. @@David-uc3cl The 7700 consumes too much power(242W), while the 8700 was leaked to consume 190W, with some underclocking and undervolting it will be able to go down to 130-150W, which can be cooled by the mini PC. I'm happy with a 8600 as well.

Yeah, they are cheap and the advertising / reviews say they are great, but don't believe them... I own one of these and there is zero support from Minisforum, zero service if it breaks and they don't operate at the level advertised... If I push the graphics resolution in games, the system simple shuts itself off... No, I am not kidding...

Been really won over by mini PCs, as long as you dont use it as a gaming PC, it is more then powerful enough for most other things to run on. So ideal as an extra work pc/ linux PC streaming/ server besides your gaming PC. That is how I would use it. Low power small foot print ideal for office work, streaminfg or browsing,.
