I loved riding in Vietnam! Overall, they are a slow moving traffic which gives way to one another including pedestrians at all directions. I loved the thrill and it keeps you alert at all times hahaha

totally agree with the keeping alert at all times, i realized that drivers and riders there tend to be more alert on the road. i think riding here in singapore makes us complacent sometimes.

Wow, for someone not familiar with the semi-automatic clutchless bike, you're incredibly brave and did a great job! It's called an underbone bike, in Malaysia we call it kapcai, derived from cub+仔, it's the type of bike we learn at driving schools, it's interesting that Singaporean driving schools are different (thought we would be similar), ours do teach the full manual bikes but that's Bfull (500cc and above) mine is B2 (below 250cc). Watching you surviving through the traffic is already making my jaw drop, I can't believe the driving there is so, well, let's say interesting, here I would complain if someone doesn't give signal or cuts through carelessly, Vietnam is on a whole other level 😱

Riding in VN is great, but you heard it right: Ha Noi is the worst of all! So many people just driving through the red traffic-lights! Police doesn't seem to do much about it there. Always watch what's happening in front of you and try to anticipate their moves and gestures. Never look at their turn-signals, they don't mean anything.

I really enjoy riding in Saigon and in Vietnam in general - slow moving traffic and most of the folks on the road are pretty alert. Hanoi is way more aggresive as there's more cars and buses, esp tour vans in the city and old quarter that often push you into other riders. Looking forward to hopefully seeing a video on a ride on the Hai van pass or ha giang loop - core memories at least for me on a honda airblade!

There is nothing happening. Just don't think of "right of way" and traffic regulation and riding in Vietnam is a breeze. When there is vehicle coming to your right, you inch to the left. When there is vehicle coming to your left, you inch to the right. When both side coming to you, just brake/slowdown, let them pass and you go behind them. That's it. Simple.
