@meddle3333 жыл бұрын
Yeah don't give up. It's only frustrating for the first year or so. Just keep picking it up whenever you have a minute. Accept that you won't be able to play EVERYTHING for a while, and focus on what you can do. It's frustrating because it uses little muscles in your fore arms that you usually don't use so much... so you just have to keep sucking at guitar for a while before they build up and you are actually able to make your hands do what you're brain is telling them to do. Also, if your hands or arms get tired, STOP. You can do permanant damage if you push it too far. Good luck!
@geompon65053 жыл бұрын
play everyday these: a) 3 minutes alternate picking on open strings WITH METRONOME. Set the tempo on a speed that you can play STABILY for 3 minutes, even if that tempo is 50 bpm. Start with the low E string for the first 2 weeks. Then add the A and D string as well. Dial up the speed ONLY when you can achieve 3 minutes straight (ie if you try 55 bpm and you can't, go back to 50 bpm for some days) b) Do all the possible legatos (hammer on-pull offs) on G string (pick any position that doesn't really stress you). Do Index-Pinky, Index-Middle, Index-Ring, Middle-Ring, Middle-PInky, Ring-Pinky, each for about 15-20 seconds. This will be really tiring but it works wonders, trust me. If your fingers feel really stressed then skip this excersice for a couple of days. c) Practice speed bursts on a SINGLE major scale motiv WITH METRONOME. Pick any motiv at first and stick to it, in only one position, ie the 5th fret. Set the metronome on a speed that you can fullfill at least four notes (4/16ths) and try to fill as much as possible (all with alternate picking) When you can play from the E string to the high E string the complete motif easily, dial up the speed 5 bpm. Again, start with SLOW speed, even if it has to be 40 bpm for the scales. Do these 3 excercises each day. No chords, no differents scales on diff posititions. No spider excercises. ONLY THESE 3! Be patient for 6-8 months. You won't believe the progress. Also, if you are feeling really bored, have a video playing while practicing these, but always keep your ear on your sound so that it stays as much clean as possible. Side note a): when dialin up the speed, do it for 5 bpm each time, no more. Side note b): if you are willing to play heavy metal, play with an overdriven/distorted sound, so that you get used on those dynamics and how to pick on such a sound. Many suggest to start with clean sound, but in my case, when I switched to practicing with ovedrive after a while, it felt weird. So practice with the sound that fits what you want to play in the future.

It doesn't move air or shake walls, but it's perfectly audible and clear and ideal for noodling. Bought the extension cab for it instead. :) Also, the one I got has bluetooth, so I can use it as a streamin' speaker while I work? No brainer for a bedroom or office amp. These are cheap, too, as the full stack combo can be grabbed for $70-80 slightly used. Btw... I am a bassist in two bands and I love your channel. When I get better at guitar, I'mma get a Solar. :)

I think you should try and included some different amplifier heads into this series. I want to see more of the "Rock Focused" amplifiers from brands like Fender, Orange, Egnater, Victory to see how much chug you can get from those more traditional style amplifiers. My more specific suggestions would be the Egnater Tweaker and a Fender Bass Breaker. I think this would be a good way for people to see what amplifiers can really get that right amount of chug if they are in the market for new amps and can't afford Mesa amplifiers or Rev Generators. I want to see someone take an Orange or Victory amp and see whether they can truly get that tight modern metal tone to perform well against your high gain monster amps. A task like that would be a real challenge for this series.

I have a Mini Tonemaster and this is WAY better. I also tried the Katana Mini & imo not 'twice the price' better. The minis are surprisingly useful if you play with mic position. From 'real amp' type sounds to BEES. The Vox Mini 3 would be an excellent WIC candidate. Vox does some good emulation, mic input, moar effects, about 5 watts.
