Responding to say the same thing as Fennec. They're not TRULY color blind. In our vision, we use chromatic receptors to perceive color, and that's all we have to perceive color, and we have three of them, red, green, and blue. Most other creatures only have one or two, one in the case of octopuses. The shape of their pupils, however, give them an additional way to disect and distinguish color wavelengths. I think the study's findings were published a year or two ago.

Brother, thank you for mentioning the Blue Ringed Octopus. Those critters are no joke, highly venomous and deadly. In Australia, we also get the huge Pacific Octopus, of which I have caught and released many. Only unlucky enough to come across a couple of Blue Ringed and kept kids away from them. Thank you for sharing.
