It’s a lot more than those two blokes that appreciate your channel, Steve. I don’t do Facebook but love all this old stuff and mucking around with old machines. Maybe some young fellas might get the bug. 👍

I sure hope so Mick! There was one bloke on Friday that left the most abusing personal comment to me that I’ve had to date and comments so far haven’t got to me but this prick did. You start questioning yourself when this happens mate. But then 99% are great and that’s what helps. The amount of nasty people on the internet is unbelievable. It’s free entertainment and they complain and abuse through comments. I kind of wish some of my viewers would see it and defend me a bit but that’s the internet I guess. I never did Facebook mate until my partner put me on there as my channel name. It’s more to promote the KZbin channel by getting some vids out there. I barely look at I though 😁. There are a few young fellas around that I know of mate. I hauled a semi trailer load of stuff home just yesterday so there’s more to play with and share. You will soon see it appear Mick.

@@stevesplacedownunder Steve. If this arsewipe is ignorant enough to leave bad comments then he will never know the fun (or the curse) of playing with old machines. Your not putting them on the road or taking them to Summernats. Just getting them going because you can. There’s hundreds of thousands of us all around the world doing that. Because WE want to. She’ll be right mate.

The grille surround is missing off the 903. The hood is moulded to suit. Great old trucks. Drove a couple in the early 80's.

The 9000 is going great! the 903 V8 sounds fantastic. First time I have seen a right hand drive one. When I was a kid there were several companies here operating BIG fleets of these trucks (left hand drive 8^) , and most town works and construction firms had them under dump beds too. I worked at a truck stop fueling and servicing these things daily. Musta pumped 100,000 gallons of the oily stuff into them. Nice to see one up close going again! Really liked the video. Oh by the way, lotta farms here in Canada grow those fuel gauges too. Universal fit in every truck, and they don't lie about the fuel level either, like the electric ones can. Cheers!

It is going good mate. It needs to be on the road. Great comment. I can imagine fleets of them getting around back them. I’d love to go back in time and watch it. I’ve heard of those fuel gauge farms over there😂😂. Great stuff thanks Jeff

That old beast would be bloody rare Steve mid 70s poverty pack I drove one back then the fuel tanks are much later as is the engine cover I also drove a 79 model an 82 model and an 85 model the later ones had VT903 Cummins great motors I ran from Melbourne to Sydney , Brisbane and Adelaide never had a problem with them .

Gday Rod yes I’d say she was a pov pack mate. Very basic old girl. I love these old girls. I’m a bit shy of these engines because as a collector and as they are old vehicles now, the electrolysis in these scare me out of all engines but when you blokes were running them they would of been beautiful engines I’m sure. I had one in a 3070 ACCO and I tried to fix her on the cheap. I put 2 liners in it and when the 3rd started leaking into the sump I got rid of her. I didn’t need the work. A VT would be a nice powerful old truck mate. I’ve never driven one.

Cummins used to have a ''Perry filter'' which the cooling water was bypassed to that filter and then return to the system. I think it had a brass or copper element that was a sacrifice that got chewed out rather than the cylinder liners. I'd love to know how Cummins got that electrolysis condition. I liked the 903 when I was a kid painted black I thought they were a neat looking engine

It’s a mate of mine that owns it mate. The company that I work for bought it brand new. They used to run mainly Mercedes and Mack in those days. It’s a 1924. Similar to the 1418 but bigger ratings and power. It does go. I actually used to drive it around the quarry with a water tanker behind it spraying the roads for other trucks and machines to keep the dust down. Wasn’t my job but would get me out of the workshop to do a run with it if needed. I loved it. It does go, I put it there only a few years ago. I will try to do an episode on it. I’m just trying not to use all my “Will it Start” episodes in one hit. I like to produce some variety

Hi mate. I have been watching it for years and mainly the American blokes that we’re doing it and I enjoy watching it so I thought that there’s no reason I can’t try to have a go. I thought if those blokes can well surely I can. I’ve got a place full of old stuff and probably more than most of the successful channels over there. It’s good to share some of the stuff because it just sits here and not seen otherwise. I think it’s going alright considering how long it takes a lot of channels to grow. I’m fairly shy in life mate but I feel I’m getting more confident each episode. I really enjoy doing it. Especially when good comments come in with people showing interest. Hopefully I can get it to a near full time gig mate where I can back work off and do some bigger restoration jobs on some of my stuff here. Just a dream at the moment though
