Thanks! Your fuel hose bypass trick strait to the tank got a 2.5 I was given running. I figured that black canaster was useless and was the problem.

"Will it Run?' Back when I was a young man, we had a yard of several acres, and I could only afford an old used riding mower. Every time it was time to mow, I would walk out to the barn and ask myself the same thing, "will it run?" Usually, it was a 50/50 chance. I spent almost as much time working on it as I did mowing with it. lol

Steve, I knew you'd get her running. Love my 2.5 Suzuki. Your setup is extremely fast in open water. My kayak with the fin drive up, and deck insert in, will do around 6.5 mph. Depends on winds, and current. Your Hobie looks like she cuts through the water a lot faster than that. But even 5 mph, is plenty of speed on any kayak setup out there. 😎 🎣 🌊 💯

Good Video! I am not sure I am 100% right but I think the two air jets and the pilot jet for idling and their micro injection holes inside of the carburetor need to be cleaned and adjusted to yield a better idling. I had the idling issue with my df2.5 caused by the corroded pilot jet and blocked air jets

Hi Steve, would be great to see how best to add gasket seal where it's indicated as necessary in the service manual. For example it says in the manual apply Suzuki bond 1207b to each surface of a replacement water impeller gasket. I made a huge meal of this and if you have any tips that would be great

I have my 2.5 on a square end canoe with the same Hobbie outrigger, mine folds for sneaking through the Sypris trees. 2.5 runs good but doesn't hold a consistent idle. Cleaned out all the carb jets several times. wondering if I should drill out the hidden needle valve cover to try adjusting that. ( it used to idle really nice)

I have a Suzuki DF6 from the year 2004. It sometimes dies when it gets warm/hot and you cannot start it before it cools down when it does that. After you wait a little bit it will start for a second and dies immediately. It's weird because it dies in a way like someone is pushing the engine kill switch. CDI Coil or what's wrong with it? I replaced the impeller and thermostat and after that the cooling circulation was way better but still after few days of fishing it did the same thing again. After a while when i rowed back to shore i decided to try again and it started back up. Also it misfires sometimes when it idles and can stall. I haven't checked the valve clearances and one thing that came into my mind is that perhaps i should probably check the air gap on that CDI coil and clean the carburetor. If these won't help then i think the only thing that i can think of is to replace the CDI but that's quite expensive. I hate these intermittent problems with these things... Any ideas?

Hi any idea what could cause a hanging idle in neutral? I have cleaned the carb with an ultrasonic cleaner and replaced all 3 gaskets for intake pipe and carb

you should run twin 2.5 - for the long runs on nice days - you may almost double speed plus have backup

I have a question for you and the community: my suzuki 2.5 shuts off after a few seconds when cold. The only way to keep it on is to open and close the air every 4-5 seconds for 7 minutes as long as it's hot, then it's fine. How can I solve this problem? the engine is new. Thanks for these videos!

Is the shaft ceasing thing a saltwater only issue or is it a freshwater issue too? I have been looking at all the 2.5hp motors and am really leaning towards this one due to the weight and such.

Or the Suzuki dealer does what they did to me. They gave me a old impeller off another motor and never did the work lol took a while to get that squared away it involved legal issues

Man, Awesome video! Is that a custom fuel line that you installed with the 90 degrees bends? Where can I source one to prevent kinking? Looks to be 1/4" line?

It looks like if I view parts for previous models (Year 2011) without the fuel pump, there are 3 different part numbers for this fuel line. The photos look identical! Any thoughts?
