I’d love to see a video about changing the lower end to use a shear pin and not a rubber gasket. I just bought a Suzuki 2.5 last week since your repair videos are soo rad. Keep all the great content coming Suzuki Chef!

Great video Steve. Always good to have a plan B, with back up motors and parts on hand.

Good video steve. You have a wealth of knowledge with these motors. Its hard to believe these motors can have so many issues being so small. Nothing like breaking a shear pin off when you get into the muck and have to replace it on the water

I think he's an expert at doing that. Breaking *and* fixing, lol...

Saltwater & salt air can cause issues. My father-in-law used to spray the head of the family 13’ Whaler. It was yellowish spray. Don’t remember. That boat & motor went through lots of abuse as it was dragged up & down on the beach by his kids ect. Never had a motor issue. That spray is great if you can figure it out. Boat was left on the all summer in Florida.

Steve i love my Suzuki 2.5. I did have it on my kayak for a little while. I won't part with it Incase I do get a smaller Solo skiff. But now I run an electric motor on my kayak, with my mirage drive. I'd love to see you set-up your own 14 ft Solo skiff, with the 6hp for your off shore trips.But you'd have to use your trailer, and we all know that's a pain. But big red and blue do just fine off shore. With less hassle. 😎 🌊 🎣🙏

do you know if the red petcock fuel valve on the newer models will fit the older 2010ish models? my gray fuel shut-off valves keep failing.

Hmmm... The text ad I have is "Outboard Motor Manual Download", lol. Would mention the computers I have, but all it would do is prove I'm a horder, too. Depends on the job you have! 😉 (I mean, who else still has a SPARCStation IPX?)

How often do you go out and motor fails and you have to pedal back ?
@Backroad_Junkie2 жыл бұрын
It happened a couple of times. Don't ask me to point to which video, though. 🙂 (It's been a couple/few years since he's had to manually pedal back.)

input, so much input were you a suzuki dealer /mechanic in the past , how do you know all of this . not a fan of Yamaha?
@jedibusiness7892 жыл бұрын
If you think about it…only two things go wrong with anything. It’s either mechanical, electrical or combination of the two. Mechanical includes air, fuel and bits and corrosion. Electrical is spark, coil, wires and computer. Learn to read schematics as well and one can fix anything an engineer created.
