That Dodge is in STUNNING condition! It deserves anything you do to it...up to and including a good paint job in the original color. You just don't find 'em in that condition, with no rust, and totally complete nowadays. Love all the art-deco touches. 😁

This beautiful car is styled in the art deco style that was the height of grandeur in 1941.The art deco theme is also found in what were luxury apartments at this time.,and all types of home decor I love this car.

Wow!! What a find! Certainly needed some mechanical work, but the body is in AMAZING condition for an unrestored 1941 vehicle. I'm really amazed at the condition of all the trim pieces -- looks like it's 100% intact, nothing missing, and in excellent condition! Even the interior looks like it's in decent shape! I'm truly impressed! Definitely don't paint it -- more valuable with that patina on there, I think.

im so glad you leave it as it is! most people restore their cars that much they lose the character of an old car, telling its lifestory
@coldwarmotors11 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks. Yeah, there is no reason to restore every car. Some, like this one, just need mechanical work and tidying up! I also like them to keep their character and history intact, even if it means leaving a few scratches and dents.

She is a beautiful car. Great patina and you know your stuff. Leave it as original as you can. You boys be making any trips to Washington state in the future. Keep it real and keep it green.

I Had a 41 Dodge Luxury Liner with MoPar Spots and a Fulton Sun Shield over 40 years ago . Back then Harrahs Club Reno NV used to put on a swap meet and I let a friend take over the wheel in Auburn CA and I took a nap in the back seat and woke up just before the Donner Summit on US 80 and once we crested the summit I said put her in natural and that Dodge coasted up to 70 MPH down that grade, what a ride... It was great to watch your rebuild /resurrection of the Only Year for the Dodge Luxury Liner, and I had done the same thing with the window regulators , used LuberPlate white grease on the window regulator...I used to adjust the valves one more time while running with extended feeler gauges I made with 1/4 " copper tubing soldered to the gauge. TRW used to offer Valve Rotator Kits for these MoPar sixes and I used high heat Aluminum paint on the engine and trans as it was the stock color....Watching your restoration was a real treat .... Saw a Cold War Motors decals on one of the cars in an older video, I'd be honored if I could get one made up exactly like it to throw on my un-loved Mutang II! This has been, and will always be one of my favorite channels on KZbin, and a fellow Albertan to boot!

Well, I'm quite flattered that anyone would want one! I will definitely put some decals together if people are interested; the one on my Fury was a one-off. I will keep you posted as soon as they are available. Cheers, and thanks again for the kind words!

Simple, but dependable. The oil & fuel used back then shortened the life of the motor . Carburetors basically dumped raw fuel into the intake , which dirtied the oil much faster & the fuel was poorly burned ... Todays engines burn so much cleaner & therefore the motors last longer... Metallurgy improvements also extend the engine life today. But back then , most everyone could work on thdir vehicles. Unlike today where they're extremely complicated to the average person.

is there much difference mechanically between this Dodge and the '41 Plymouth you found? and I'd like to know if vintage Chrysler Corp. engines needed periodic valve-and-ring jobs more frequently than Fords and GM's of that age.

OMG!!!! Stop painting engines w/ aluminum/silver paint!!!! It holds in the heat and those flatties tend to get hot at highway speeds enough as it is. Paint them black if not the factory color PLEASE!!!! GAAAAAAA!!!!! Read up on thermo efficiencies!!!
@coldwarmotors9 жыл бұрын
+Jay Briggs The correct colour for these engines is:Aluminum Silver - Mopar P4529148. All of these flat head sixes are supposed to be silver . I own six of them: all silver. So no, I will not paint them incorrectly so that you will calm down. It runs fine, never hot. Do you often yell your uninformed opinion at people you've never met about things you know nothing about? Give your "!" key a break. OMG, indeed. Cheers.
