someone has one for sale near me said it runs but it wont shift into neutral. he said it runs fine. what could be causing the problem

If it's a hydro probably just an adjustment but I'm guessing it's a geared tractor and I'm not sure what the problem would be. Thanks for watching!!!

he has two of the same model... one is about the same condition as yours. it runs but has the shifting problem. the other one is a hydro and is a little rough but he is asking 90 for both with mower decks. would you go for it? pittsburgh.craigslist.org/grd/d/simplicity-tractormowers-and/6364153856.html

The one starts and runs but on full choke. If you are handy and can rebuild the carburetor it might be worth it. Also, you could swap the hydro into the geared tractor and you'd have the neutral problem solved.

so i ended up buying both... turns out the brake was stuck on. the problem im having is the mower deck. i have it hooked up but when i lift it up the one side lifts the other does not. also it seems really loose when i move the height adjustment on the mower deck the whole mower swings making it hard to move. also the deck is really off level. any ideas? thanks. its a 4212 with the 36” mower deck

All those adjustment are covered in the 4212 manual. Just go to Simplicity manufacturing .com and put in the model #169XXXX.
