Good to see you back Mr. Terry! That engine looks good to me. I know you’re excited that it runs! Congratulations!

@waynemiracle8928 Thank you Wayne! Hope you are well. Yeah, had a busy summer doing non Flathead stuff 😔 with the exception of this motor😀. It will need a rebuild someday.

I had a 64 chevy truck, i got a 4 bolt main 350 from a truck, i did a cheep rebuild, new rings , cam , lifters , timeing chain , lapped the valves amd new valve seals and a new bearings and oil pump. it turnd out to be good running engine, it only cost 500 $ . but that was over 10 years ago Brendan

If you would have put a bit of oil in each cylinder your compression would have been higher especially on an engine thats been sitting

Good point Glenn! I actually did put oil in the cylinders prior to the compression tests. I just didn't mention that in the episode. I should test them again after I've run it a few times to see if they improve. I'm not sure if or when I'll get it back in the car with the current 350 running just fine. Thanks for the comment.

You know that Massey Ferguson sold the 500 series combine with a 327 4 bolt main engine. All of us farm kids were trying to come up with excuses for our parents to buy a combine so we could steal the engine.

WoW! I didn't know that Wayne. Good info! Learned somethin' new today. Thanks!

@ Heh. That was early seventies. Local Massey dealer was only 4 km away, bought a snowmobile there.
