Been working on a 1945 d4 2T myself. I think they're worth saving. They're pretty tough old machines. I bought mine with the main clutch not working. Was hoping it was an adjustment issue. But thats not my luck. Bought it for cleaning up storm damage from a tornado we had. I work it. I just dont beat on it real hard. Slow and easy get the job done. The only thing is. Parts for em are going extinct. Some are gone for good.

That's a decent size machine, keep it alive if you can! I believe you can source clutch/steering parts but final gears might be really hard to find. Make sure to keep an eye out for a parts machine to swap over in case you need to do a major repair.

@@WOODDIGDIY yea. I got all the clutch parts new from general gear. She's back together and running. I've been watching for a parts machine. Mines a wide gauge with a 8ft wide blade its an old us7 military dozer. . Not many of those around my area from what I understand.

Yes! Very lucky, I was thinking of doing direct start conversion instead of fixing the magneto up but that's big $$$ I wanted to make sure the drivetrain worked first.
