Simmers is the best surfer on tour but I doubt the WSL will let her win. I think Marks is the easy bet and they’ll give her 9’s for the same backside turns she does over and over. She’s good but no variety or progression. Her forehand is avg as well, compared to all the other girls on tour, so she ain’t going left. For the men I can see Italo winning because the WSL needs a Brazilian champ, especially after the Olympics. Also this should always be held at Pipeline, but then most Brazilians wouldn’t have a chance so that wouldn’t work so it’s Fiji instead next year 😂

What... so you think Simmers and the other girls have better turns than Marks? For real? Like, Caroline is definetly the most sharp girl when it comes to turns right now after maybe Wright... And do you really think Brasilians suck at Pipe? Talk about Toledo maybe... But Dora, Ferreira, Pupo... Medina dude, like what the fuck. Ferreira won Chopu this year, or did ya forget? Jezz people are funny... The real feel is that they are gonna crown either Florence or Colapinto, that's kinda obvious. They both got a lot of chance in that wave. But there's still Ferreira at 5th stop and people keep putting him as a potential winner... Talk about a threat.

@@ufapmc sorry but the only things Marks does better than Simmers is her backside top to bottom surfing is better and she doesn’t fall much but that’s because she doesn’t take risks! It’s the same turns over and over, even Peter King was on a podcast recently and admitted it but said they’ll still reward her regardless which means the WSL scoring criteria is BS. Also when I talk about Pipeline and Brazilians, I’m talking about the guys who can make the top 5. Toledo is automatically eliminated. Medina and Italo can win Pipe as they have before but if it’s mainly Backdoor and not the lefts, they’ll lose 80% of the time to guys like JJF and Jack otherwise they get a 50% chance at best. The best barrel rider from Brazil, I’m taking frontside and backside, is Chianca. Oh and if Pipe were the final for the women it’s the same situation where girls like Marks would be the worst off and very little chance at winning. Tati, Simmers, Pickles, and even Brisa are all better overall barrel riders than her, but Simmers and Pickles are 1-2 when it comes to both frontside and backside ability and the way they charge.
