Picketts a sniper, funny how the dees come out and say they don’t want him to change after his three suspension in 26 games, yet wanted to crucify Maynard. Picketts hit on Bailey smith last season was one of the worst ones I’ve seen in the modern game. He was just lucky Bailey smith could take a hit much better than Brayshaw could.

@@Alexandersupertramp18😂😂😂😂😂 If Kozzy had hit Brayshaw the way he hit Smith last year, the result would've been the same for Brayshaw. Maynard didn't end anything at all. Keep caping for a clearly dirty player though.

Yeh, im kind of mixed about Lachie Neale. He’s an absolute gun and he’s a freak at footy but he looks like a guy who doesn’t even enjoy the sport that he dominates in 😂. I would prefer watching players who are footy nuffies who are struggling then genetic freaks who just go through the motions. Maybe I’m being harsh, but watching Lachie doesn’t do it for me… he deserves all his accolades but he’s too robotic in personality for me to appreciate

@@bunningsnag6110 he’s an extremely hard worker… I never argued otherwise, the guy works his ass off… but if he wasn’t capable of being elite level genetically, I don’t think he would choose footy as his occupation (he did go to Brisbane and flirt with the idea of coming back and doing a u-turn only because of his girlfriend). If Lachie Neale was like Tony Shaw (amazing player, but not as naturally gifted as Ablett, Diacos etc), I believe he never would pursue footy. Neale is more of a guy that’s it’s more of a job while excelling at his genetic gifts than a passion. Having said that, I could completely wrong here… it’s just my opinion.

@@mattyey as a non Aussie just getting into the sport the past 5-8 years i never got the hype with Lauchie, and part of it is what you mentioned. He never appears to be having fun or showing any emotion Now thats likely me making snap judgements on a young man when he could simply just not show emotion outwardly lots. Doesnt mean hes not passionate But i was more of a Dusty guy as i was getting into the sport and now im a big fan of guys like Bont and Cripps. Play with more passion, at least outward passion

I think Lachie Neale Making top ten for the Lions is probably fair enough... I dont think he ever finishes higher than 6th or so.. that 2001-2004 Lions side had so many superstars, you could nearly pull eight names of the bat without even having to think about it, Voss, Lappin, Akermanis, Lynch, Mal Michael, Leppitch Jonathon Brown, Craig Johnson in the back pocket... even their lesser names like the current Pies coach, Marty McFly, Craig McRae was a gun. I grew up in Perth watching the WAFL and switched to the Eagles when they came into it in 1987.. so have seen plenty of good and great footy teams, including Victorian State of Origin sides live.... I lived in Brisvegas in the late 1990's and IMO I NEVER saw a club side as strong as that Lions outfit. Frankly they were so good I would have fancied them against state of origin sides of the era. Watching those Lions play footy was like watching the All Blacks play rugby, it was simply textbook stuff.

@PeterM1-qx1tz Spot on, although I’m not sure Mal Michael deserved a mention and how the AFL allowed them to assemble such a list is beyond me but that’s another story. The other thing is the Fitzroy players who should be in the argument Wilson, Murray, Quinlan etc etc. Wilson was right up with Bartlett and Matthews as the best rover of the ‘70’s but is criminally underrated and no I’m not an old Roy man.

@@michaelhehir8116 Bernie Quinlan, yes what a player!! Gary Wilson as well, I saw him play for Victoria at Subiaco in the very last carnival in 1979. The Victorian centre line was Keith Greig, Gary Wilson and Robert Flower!! Probably the greatest centerline in history ; ]

@PeterM2-qx1tz Interesting story about Greg and Flower, despite being two of the best wingmen of their generation they only played on each other once. Very late in their career, mid 80’s in a preseason match at VFL park. Flower played HF and Greg HB. Odd.

This may be sacrilege for some for me to say this… but I have actually softened over Eddie on the mic these days lol. For about a decade I couldn’t stand him when he was a journalist and former Pies President but when he became a normal civilian journalist I now like his on-air warmth, bubbly personality (but I never thought I’d say that in a million years before 😂).

As an Eagles man, we all have an inbuilt anti-pies bias lol… but after I saw Eddie defending all 18 teams against TJ in his legendary on air teardown, he earned my respect that day. That was his finest hour I don’t remember the words at verbatim but it was something like “These are desperate stakes, so dont try and make a fool out of me mate!!”, and “stand by your club”… so he was a man of the people that day

Plus he got to 'Bone' Jessica Rowe, suggested Adam Goodes was like Kingcong, the handling of the Do Better review... a real bastion of morality. I have a nice photo from 2005 of Eddie being hammered at a nightclub with a story I shan't share.

@@seniorsergeanttomcroydon6401there are 2 Eddies… there is the guy who was the president of Collingwood Eddie, and then Eddie the civilian. Eddie has his flaws However I like Eddie the civilian, so I started to appreciate him more after he stepped down. So let’s agree to disagree I’ll put it in context, if Eddie was a bar manager I would not like him and would find him unpleasant (and I have no anti-authority issues), but as a customer he would be a good bloke to chat with. So Eddie is better when outside of leadership, he’s more humble
